Position Overview
This Depot Manager role involves managing day-to-day depot operations and organisation, managing accessories stock from receipt through disposal, inspecting accessories to determine serviceability, coordinating repair works within agreed turnaround times, planning and scheduling the depot team’s daily activities, monitoring productivity and identifying bottlenecks, ensuring HSE compliance across all depot activities, and preparing regular reports on stock position, repair backlog and operational risks.

Key Responsibilities
Depot Operations & Organisation
- Manage the day-to-day operation and organisation of the depot, ensuring safe, clean and orderly conditions
- Coordinate the movement, positioning and storage of accessories to maximise space utilisation
Stock & Accessories Management
- Manage accessories stock from receipt through storage, issue, return, inspection, repair and disposal
- Regularly inspect accessories, distinguishing serviceable, repairable, obsolete and non-serviceable items
- Assess damaged or defective accessories and recommend repair, refurbishment, quarantine or disposal
- Maintain effective controls to prevent incorrect classification of serviceable or obsolete items
Repair Coordination & Scheduling
- Coordinate and oversee accessories repair works within agreed turnaround times and quality standards
- Establish and monitor target completion times, taking corrective action where behind schedule
- Plan and schedule the depot team’s daily and weekly activities based on workload and priority
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor individual and team productivity, identifying underperformance and bottlenecks
- Maintain visibility of outstanding work, aged repair jobs and pending inspections
- Support development of KPIs covering stock accuracy, repair turnaround and depot efficiency
- Prepare regular reports for management covering stock position, backlog and operational risks
Safety, Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Ensure all depot activities comply with HSE policies and safe working practices
- Carry out regular inspections of the depot and storage areas
- Work closely with Workshop, Operations, Procurement and Logistics teams
- Provide leadership and support to depot personnel and identify training requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Associate’s degree, trade certification or diploma in logistics, warehouse management, mechanical engineering, industrial maintenance or a related field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in depot, warehouse, workshop, logistics or heavy equipment support operations
- Proven experience in team supervision and day-to-day operational scheduling
- Experience in inventory and stock management, preferably involving technical or heavy equipment accessories
- Experience coordinating repair, maintenance or refurbishment activities preferred
Essential Skills
- Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage changing priorities
- Good understanding of stock control, inventory accuracy and material handling practices
- Ability to coordinate and schedule a multi-skilled team effectively
- Good understanding of HSE requirements for depot, lifting, storage and material-handling activities
