The Logistics Specialist at CHG-MERIDIAN in Groß-Gerau is responsible for the operational processing and awarding of national and international transport contracts, management of assigned logistics partners, transport cost inquiry processing, independent deadline and quality monitoring, support for logistics projects, and acting as the strategic interface between sales, customers, and logistics service providers. Key Responsibilities
Transport Contract Processing & Awarding
- Operationally process and award national and international transport contracts — ensuring accuracy, compliance, and cost-effectiveness across all logistics engagements
- Process transport cost inquiries efficiently — evaluating provider quotes, comparing options, and recommending the most suitable logistics solutions
- Monitor and manage transport deadlines independently — proactively tracking shipment timelines and resolving delays or issues before they impact customer delivery commitments
- Ensure all transport contract documentation is accurately maintained and accessible for operational and management review at all times
Logistics Partner Management
- Manage assigned logistics partners — building strong, reliable, and mutually beneficial relationships with national and international transport service providers
- Monitor logistics partner performance against agreed quality standards and service level agreements — taking corrective actions where performance gaps are identified
- Coordinate regular reviews with logistics partners to drive continuous improvement in service quality, lead times, and overall transport efficiency
- Evaluate new logistics providers as needed — supporting the company’s goal of maintaining a strong, competitive, and reliable transport partner network
Quality Monitoring & Logistics Project Support
- Independently monitor transport quality — ensuring all shipments meet CHG-MERIDIAN’s quality and compliance requirements throughout the logistics process
- Support logistics projects across the IT, healthcare, and industrial equipment sectors — contributing technical logistics knowledge and operational expertise to project teams
- Identify and escalate quality issues, transport deviations, or operational risks promptly — working with partners and internal teams to implement effective solutions
- Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives within the logistics function — sharing insights and ideas that enhance efficiency and service quality
Interface Management — Sales, Customers & Logistics Providers
- Serve as the key operational interface between the sales team, customers, and logistics service providers — ensuring clear, timely, and accurate communication across all parties
- Respond to customer and sales team inquiries regarding transport status, delivery timelines, and logistics-related questions professionally and promptly
- Coordinate closely with internal teams to align transport requirements with customer expectations and business delivery commitments
- Maintain strong number affinity and cost awareness in all logistics decisions — supporting budget-conscious, efficient transport management across the portfolio
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Completed vocational training as a freight forwarding clerk (Speditionskaufmann/-frau) — OR a completed business administration degree with a focus on logistics or supply chain
Experience Requirements
- Initial professional experience in a comparable position within the logistics sector — with practical knowledge of transport contract management and logistics partner coordination
- Ideally, experience in the IT, Healthcare, or Industrial Equipment business areas — highly advantageous for this technology-focused logistics role
