Position Overview
This Plant Manager role provides strategic operational oversight for production, operating, and transportation processes at Cargill’s WaKeeney, Kansas plant and the Ogallah, KS facility. You will establish operational priorities across two grain receiving, storage, and transport facilities, lead strategic and tactical operations and quality management, control capital and operating budgets, oversee efficiency improvements and best practices, collaborate with cross-functional partners, and ensure employee, food safety, and environmental compliance standards are met.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Establish and deploy operational priorities for two grain receiving, storage, and transport facilities
- Lead strategic and tactical operations and quality management deliverables
- Ensure customer, product, and quality standard requirements are met within specifications
Financial & Budget Management
- Lead, direct, and control capital and operating budgets to achieve financial performance objectives
- Hold direct reports accountable for meeting and controlling operating expenses and targets
- Support financial performance goals set by the business
Efficiency & Best Practices
- Oversee operational management and efficiency improvements including standardization of plant information systems
- Drive quality control, safety, and production reliability excellence
- Implement maintenance and operator best practices across facilities
Safety, Compliance & Team Leadership
- Ensure employee, food safety, and environmental compliance program standards are implemented
- Oversee internal and external operating and regulatory procedures on employee and food safety
- Lead and develop a team, coaching on talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions
- Collaborate with origination, HR, transportation, logistics, and maintenance teams; engage with the community and customers
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR equivalent experience
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of four years of related work experience
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed and extra hours during harvest seasons
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of supervisory experience
