Position Overview

The Sourcing Manager in the UAE is a hands-on, commercially focused sourcing leadership role that spans the full product development and production lifecycle — from initial concept and supplier identification through prototypes, sampling, revisions, approvals, production, and launch. You will lead sourcing activities across a portfolio of accessories and lifestyle products, identify and qualify factories and ODM partners across China, Vietnam, and Cambodia, negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms, and manage product development from concept to market — all while coordinating closely with the client’s Hong Kong agent, quality partners, and internal teams.

This is explicitly not a passive supplier management role. The organisation is looking for a Sourcing Manager who actively manages the sourcing strategy, challenges suppliers on cost and specifications, identifies better production solutions, finds alternative materials, and genuinely influences the commercial and technical outcome of every product. If you are a commercially minded, technically capable sourcing professional who is deeply comfortable working directly with factories across Asia — questioning, negotiating, problem-solving, and driving results — and you are currently based in the UAE and willing to travel regularly to Asia for factory visits, this is the role you have been looking for in 2026.

What Makes This Sourcing Manager Role Genuinely Different: Most sourcing management roles are fundamentally about maintaining existing supplier relationships, processing purchase orders, and monitoring delivery timelines. This role is fundamentally different — it requires someone who actively builds the supplier network, challenges factories at a technical and commercial level, finds new ODM solutions that the business has not considered yet, and plays a genuine strategic role in determining which products get made, how they get made, and at what cost. If your sourcing career has been about doing all of those things — not just managing what already exists — this is the role that matches what you actually do.

Key Responsibilities

Supplier Sourcing, Qualification & Relationship Management

  • Lead sourcing activities across a portfolio of accessories and lifestyle products with a particular focus on China, Vietnam, and Cambodia — owning the end-to-end sourcing process from initial factory identification through supplier qualification, relationship development, and ongoing performance management
  • Identify, assess, qualify, and develop relationships with factories, manufacturers, and ODM suppliers — evaluating manufacturing capability, product category expertise, quality standards, compliance track record, and commercial terms to build a reliable, high-performing supplier network aligned with the brand’s product and commercial requirements
  • Build and maintain a reliable and scalable supplier network — conducting regular factory visits, supplier reviews, and on-site assessments to maintain accurate knowledge of supplier capability, capacity, and performance, and to develop the personal relationships with factory management that enable effective negotiation and problem resolution
  • Coordinate closely with the Hong Kong agent, quality partners, factories, and internal stakeholders throughout the sourcing and development process — managing the communication and information flow across a geographically distributed network of partners to keep product development programmes on track

Commercial Negotiation & Cost Management

  • Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, payment terms, and commercial conditions with factories and ODM suppliers — applying strong commercial negotiation skills and deep market knowledge to achieve the most competitive terms available while maintaining the supplier relationships and production quality the business needs
  • Challenge suppliers proactively on cost, quality, specifications, lead times, and proposed solutions — not accepting first proposals as final positions, but digging into cost structures, identifying inefficiencies, proposing alternative materials or production approaches, and pushing suppliers to find better commercial and technical solutions
  • Develop a strong commercial understanding of product costing, margin structures, and the relationship between specification choices and factory economics — being able to make or recommend the specification trade-offs that improve commercial viability without compromising the product’s intended quality, function, or creative direction
  • Monitor sourcing timelines, costs, quality, and production progress — proactively identifying and addressing risks or delays before they become commercial problems, and maintaining the structured documentation of sourcing activities, costs, and supplier performance that supports effective programme management

Product Development — Concept Through to Production

  • Manage product development from initial concept and supplier identification through prototypes, sampling, revisions, approvals, and production — owning the complete technical and commercial journey of every product from the point at which a concept exists to the point at which finished goods are approved for delivery
  • Work with suppliers to assess product feasibility, manufacturing constraints, production timelines, and technical requirements — applying manufacturing knowledge to evaluate whether a proposed product concept is producible at the required quality and cost, and identifying the production approach, factory capability, and material specifications needed to realise it
  • Review materials, finishes, components, and construction — ensuring all product development decisions align with the intended creative and commercial direction while remaining manufacturable within the supplier’s capability, cost target, and production timeline
  • Contribute to model, colourway, material, and gift-set selections — bringing a well-developed sense of product and market trends to range planning discussions and product selection decisions, providing sourcing perspective on what is producible, commercially viable, and market-appropriate across the accessories category

Market Intelligence, Compliance & Range Development

  • Monitor competitor activity, market developments, materials, and emerging product opportunities — proactively bringing new ideas, new suppliers, new materials, and new product concepts to the business that keep the accessories range commercially current and competitively positioned in its target markets
  • Ensure products meet relevant quality, certification, and compliance requirements across different product categories and target markets — coordinating testing and certification activities with quality partners and factories to confirm all products meet applicable regulatory and brand standards before production approval
  • Support development of seasonal product ranges and identify opportunities for new product categories and suppliers — contributing a sourcing and manufacturing perspective to range planning decisions that improves the commercial viability and producibility of the seasonal collection
  • Support the business in developing and scaling a strong, commercially viable accessories supply base — building the supplier network breadth, depth, and reliability that allows the business to grow its accessories range with confidence in sourcing execution and production quality

Candidate Profile & Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Strong, hands-on sourcing experience in Asia — particularly China, Vietnam, or Cambodia — with direct, personal experience working with factories and ODM suppliers in these markets, not purely office-based or agency-intermediated sourcing management
  • Proven experience managing relationships with factories and/or ODM suppliers — with the factory-level technical and commercial knowledge to evaluate supplier capability, assess production feasibility, and negotiate effectively at a detailed, specification-level depth
  • Strong negotiation skills around pricing, MOQs, lead times, and product specifications — with demonstrable examples of achieving meaningful commercial improvements through skilled, persistent, technically informed negotiation with Asian factories
  • Previous experience in product development including prototypes, sampling, and supplier coordination — with hands-on involvement in taking products from initial concept through the complete development cycle to production approval
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly to Asia for factory and supplier visits — this is a non-negotiable operational requirement; candidates who cannot commit to regular travel to China, Vietnam, and Cambodia are not suitable for this role
  • Currently based in the UAE — this is a UAE-based role and applications from candidates outside the UAE will not be considered at this stage

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience within retail, fashion, sportswear, lifestyle, accessories, or consumer products — with understanding of seasonal product ranges, retail commercial requirements, and the product development cadence of consumer goods categories
  • Background with an international brand, sourcing office, or ODM/OEM environment — demonstrating familiarity with structured product development processes, brand sourcing standards, and multi-stakeholder sourcing coordination
  • Existing supplier relationships across China, Vietnam, or Cambodia — in relevant product categories that could immediately benefit the accessories and lifestyle product sourcing programme
  • Experience working with a Hong Kong-based sourcing agent or quality partners — understanding the agent relationship model and how to coordinate effectively across agent, factory, and internal stakeholder networks

Why Sourcing Manager Roles in the UAE Are Strategically Significant in 2026

The UAE has established itself as one of the most commercially active hubs for international brand operations, product sourcing management, and Asia-facing supply chain leadership in the world — with its geography, infrastructure, and business environment making it a natural base for professionals who manage extensive Asian manufacturing relationships while serving international brand and retail clients. For an experienced Asia sourcing manager, the UAE offers the rare combination of a tax-free personal income environment, proximity to key Asian manufacturing markets via direct flight connections, and an active community of international brands and retail businesses who need exactly the supply chain and sourcing leadership capability that experienced Asia-based sourcing professionals bring.

For a sourcing manager with strong China, Vietnam, or Cambodia factory relationships, ODM product development experience, commercial negotiation depth, and the hands-on, challenge-everything mindset this role specifically requires, this accessories and lifestyle brand opportunity in the UAE offers a genuine chance to own and build a sourcing function — not maintain one. If that describes how you approach sourcing, apply now and bring the supply base capability this brand is looking for in 2026.

Who Should Apply?

  • Hands-On Asia Sourcing Managers Currently Based in UAE: With strong, direct factory and ODM sourcing experience in China, Vietnam, or Cambodia — able to travel regularly to Asia and already resident in the UAE, ready to step into an end-to-end sourcing leadership role from day one
  • ODM Product Development Managers with Accessories or Lifestyle Experience: With experience managing product development from concept through production with Asian ODM factories — contributing both commercial negotiation depth and product development judgment to a brand building its accessories supply base
  • Sourcing Professionals from Retail, Fashion, or Consumer Goods Backgrounds: With seasonal range planning exposure, supplier base management experience, and the commercial understanding of product costing and margin that a consumer accessories brand requires from its sourcing leadership
  • Factory-Fluent Commercial Negotiators: Who are genuinely comfortable getting into the detail with factories — questioning cost structures, challenging specifications, proposing alternative materials, and finding production solutions that improve commercial outcomes without compromising product quality or creative direction
  • UAE-Based Sourcing Leaders Ready for Strategic Ownership: Currently in a UAE-based sourcing role and seeking a position with broader strategic responsibility — owning the supplier network development, range development contribution, and commercial sourcing strategy of a growing international accessories brand
