Position Overview
The Screwman is responsible for operating and assisting with paver machine operations for road and infrastructure projects, controlling and adjusting the screed system to maintain the required paving width, thickness, level, slope, and alignment. The role works closely with the Paver Operator, Grade Checker, Surveyor, and Foreman to ensure smooth and accurate asphalt laying.
 Why This Role Matters: As Screwman, you operate and adjust the screed system of asphalt paver machines during road paving operations, maintain the required paving width, thickness, level, slope, and alignment with precision, monitor asphalt material flow, ensuring a smooth and uniform paving surface, make necessary screed adjustments according to site conditions and project requirements, assist in maintaining proper asphalt temperature, material distribution, and paving quality, and identify and report any machine or paving issues promptly to the Paver Operator or Foreman, contributing directly to the quality of road and infrastructure projects across the UAE.
 Key Responsibilities
Screed Operation & Adjustment
- Operate and adjust the screed system of asphalt paver machines during road paving operations
- Maintain the required paving width, thickness, level, slope, and alignment
Material & Quality Monitoring
- Monitor asphalt material flow and ensure a smooth and uniform paving surface
- Assist in maintaining proper asphalt temperature, material distribution, and paving quality
Team Coordination
- Work closely with the Paver Operator, Grade Checker, Surveyor, and Foreman
- Make necessary screed adjustments according to site conditions and project requirements
Maintenance & Safety
- Carry out basic cleaning and maintenance of the screed and related equipment
- Identify and report any machine or paving issues promptly
- Follow all HSE procedures and site safety requirements
 Qualifications & Requirements
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience as a Screwman / Screed Operator on asphalt paver machines
- Experience in road and infrastructure projects
- Good knowledge of asphalt paving, screed adjustment, levels, slopes, and paving thickness
Essential Skills
- Ability to work effectively with Paver Operators, Grade Checkers, Surveyors, and site teams
- Good understanding of paving quality and surface finishing
Preferred Qualifications
- GCC/UAE road construction experience will be an advantage
