Position Overview
This Competent Civil Engineer role reviews and interprets civil drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents, supervising and monitoring civil construction activities at project sites. You will coordinate with Project Engineers, consultants, and subcontractors, prepare and review technical submissions and method statements, monitor quality and progress while reporting technical issues, ensure compliance with codes and authority requirements, monitor excavation, foundations, and structural works, coordinate inspections and testing, support project documentation, and ensure compliance with HSE policies.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Review & Site Supervision
- Review and interpret civil drawings, specifications, BOQs, and technical documents
- Supervise and monitor civil construction activities at project sites
- Ensure civil works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and requirements
Stakeholder Coordination & Technical Submissions
- Coordinate with Project Engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams
- Prepare and review technical submissions, material submittals, method statements, and inspection requests
Quality Monitoring & Problem Resolution
- Monitor the quality and progress of civil works and report technical issues or delays
- Assist in resolving technical problems and provide appropriate engineering solutions
- Ensure construction activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and authority requirements
Civil Works Oversight
- Monitor excavation, foundations, concrete works, structural works, roads, drainage, and other civil activities
- Coordinate inspections, testing, and approvals with consultants and relevant authorities
- Monitor the use and quality of construction materials for compliance with approved specifications
Documentation & HSE Compliance
- Support project documentation, including as-built drawings, inspection records, and handover documents
- Ensure compliance with company HSE policies and project safety requirements
- Attend technical and progress meetings and provide technical guidance to supervisors and technicians
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering
Experience Requirements
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in construction projects
Certifications
- PMP certification is preferred
