Position Overview
This HVAC / Maintenance Technician role involves responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance on kitchen and mechanical room equipment, visually inspecting tools and equipment, identifying and operating shut-off valves, maintaining maintenance inventory, performing surface preparation and painting, troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical and guestroom items, programming TVs, using the Lockout/Tagout system, and maintaining interior and exterior landscaping and sprinkler systems.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Repair Response & Preventive Maintenance
- Respond and attend to guest repair requests, communicating to resolve maintenance issues
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen and mechanical room equipment
- Visually inspect tools, equipment and machines
Multi-Trade Technical Work
- Identify, locate and operate shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs
- Display knowledge across air conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry and kitchen equipment
- Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, and light bulb/filter replacement
- Test, troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical components, guestroom items and TVs
Safety & Inventory
- Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work
- Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed
- Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved programs
Landscaping & General Duties
- Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping and external sprinkler systems
- Display basic computer skills, including air handler schedules and temperature changes
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Experience Requirements
- Some experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation and painting
- Experience in hotel engineering or maintenance a plus
- No supervisory experience required
License Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
