Key Responsibilities
AI Platform Development & Agentic AI Engineering
- Design, develop, and deploy AI agents and automation solutions that accelerate internal engineering workflows and customer-facing delivery
- Own the complete AI lifecycle — problem discovery, prototyping, evaluation, hardening, and production deployment — end to end
- Contribute reusable libraries, prompt templates, tool-use patterns, and evaluation scaffolding back to the shared HealthEdge AI Platform
- Apply expertise in LLM APIs, agentic frameworks (LangChain, Strands), and prompt engineering to build high-quality AI solutions
Integration & Software Engineering
- Partner closely with software engineers to integrate AI capabilities seamlessly into HealthEdge’s existing software infrastructure
- Apply solid software engineering fundamentals — version control, testing, CI/CD — throughout the full AI development lifecycle
- Ensure AI systems support seamless functionality, performance, and reliability within HealthEdge’s production engineering environment
- Use traditional ML frameworks including PyTorch and scikit-learn alongside LLM tools where appropriate to the problem at hand
Stakeholder Collaboration & Problem Discovery
- Work directly with product managers, implementation consultants, engineers, and business operations teams to identify pain points
- Scope AI solutions collaboratively — translating business needs into technically sound, measurable, and deliverable AI outcomes
- Act as the critical bridge between what AI can deliver and what HealthEdge’s business stakeholders need done in healthcare
- Iterate toward measurable outcomes — validating solutions with stakeholders and improving based on real-world feedback
Performance, Reliability & Healthcare Safety
- Optimise AI systems for accuracy, latency, cost-efficiency, and safety — with particular attention to healthcare-appropriate guardrails
- Design human-in-the-loop systems that maintain appropriate oversight and accountability for AI decisions in healthcare contexts
- Monitor and continuously improve AI agent performance in production — ensuring reliability and accuracy at scale
- Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of model development processes, methodologies, and results for transparency
Research, Learning & Innovation
- Stay actively current with advancements in LLMs, agentic AI frameworks, machine learning, and healthcare technology trends
- Apply new knowledge and research to contribute innovation ideas and technical improvements within the HealthEdge AI team
- Evaluate emerging AI tools, frameworks, and methodologies for potential application in HealthEdge’s healthcare AI platform
- Share knowledge and insights across the engineering team — contributing to a culture of continuous AI learning and improvement
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a closely related technical discipline is preferred
- A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field combined with strong practical ML/AI production experience will also be considered
Experience Requirements
- 2–4 years of hands-on experience building and deploying ML or AI systems in real production environments
- Experience working directly with non-technical stakeholders or in embedded/consulting-style engineering roles is a strong advantage
- Interest in or familiarity with healthcare data, clinical workflows, EHR systems, or regulatory requirements in healthcare technology
Technical Skills
