Position Overview
This Team Leader — Production role at Julphar’s OSD plant in Ras Al Khaimah is a high-accountability, compliance-critical, and operationally demanding pharmaceutical manufacturing leadership position. Key Responsibilities
OSD Production Management
- Supervise and manage the full OSD production process — granulation, compression, coating, blending, and packaging operations
- Ensure strict adherence to production schedules and optimise manufacturing output while maintaining the highest product quality standards
- Coordinate with supply chain, planning, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth raw material availability and production continuity
- Troubleshoot production-related issues swiftly and implement effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence
GMP Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all OSD production operations fully comply with cGMP, WHO, USFDA, MHRA, and all applicable regulatory standards
- Work closely with the Quality Assurance (QA) team to ensure rigorous in-process quality checks are conducted and documented
- Handle deviations, change controls, and production investigations in a timely, thorough, and regulatory-compliant manner
- Maintain proper batch manufacturing records (BMR), SOPs, and all production documentation to the highest regulatory standard
Team Leadership, Supervision & Training
- Supervise and mentor all production staff — including operators, technicians, and junior executives — across assigned OSD shifts
- Conduct structured training programmes on SOPs, GMP guidelines, safety procedures, and equipment operation for all team members
- Monitor employee performance continuously and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement across the team
- Build a disciplined, motivated, and safety-first production team aligned with Julphar’s core values and manufacturing standards
Equipment Management & Process Optimisation
- Ensure all OSD production equipment — granulators, tablet presses, coating machines, blenders — is properly functioning and calibrated
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction while maintaining the highest product quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure timely resolution of all equipment issues minimising production downtime
- Support process validation, equipment qualification, and technology transfer activities as required by production and R&D
Safety, Regulatory & Audit Readiness
- Ensure full adherence to workplace safety guidelines and implement effective preventive safety measures across the OSD plant
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and take necessary actions to minimise occupational hazards and environmental impact
- Prepare the OSD plant for regulatory inspections (WHO, USFDA, MHRA) and customer audits — ensuring documentation is complete
- Address audit findings promptly and implement robust corrective and preventive measures to achieve and maintain full compliance
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- B.Pharm, M.Pharm, or M.Sc. degree in Pharmaceuticals, Chemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline
- Additional qualifications in pharmaceutical manufacturing management, GMP, or regulatory compliance are an advantage
Experience Requirements
- 6–10 years of experience in OSD pharmaceutical manufacturing — covering granulation, compression, coating, and packaging operations
- A minimum of 2–3 years in a supervisory or managerial production role within a regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting OSD equipment: granulators, tablet presses, coating machines, and blenders

- Strong and comprehensive understanding of cGMP, WHO, USFDA, and MHRA regulatory compliance in pharmaceutical manufacturing
