Position Overview
The General Supply Specialist performs clerical duties in an office or mailroom — working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, and following all regulatory requirements for office equipment care and use. The role also includes material handling: receiving, unpacking, preparing, packing, moving, relocating, positioning, and transporting medical equipment. You will process incoming and outgoing medical device shipments, forward orders, make follow-ups, prepare forms, and post records; communicate by email and phone with medical device manufacturers and vendors about repairs; brief customers on equipment status, processing times, and transportation section capacity; keep office files and logbooks current; and attend training, meetings, and conferences required by U.S. Army Medical Center Europe.
Why This Role Matters: Medical equipment is only useful when it reaches the right place, in working order, at the right time. As General Supply Specialist, you keep that flow organized — tracking shipments, chasing repairs, updating records, and giving customers clear answers about where their equipment is. Accurate logbooks, timely follow-ups, and careful handling help medical teams across Europe get what they need without avoidable delays.
