Position Overview
This Application Engineer role centers on reviewing RFx and tender documents from customers and preparing technical proposal packages for Battery Energy Storage Systems projects. You will coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during system sizing, simulation, and bid package preparation, and provide technical support across various value streams throughout the development phase of each project until commissioning. The role requires roughly 20% travel, both domestic and international, based on project needs.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Proposal Development
- Review RFx, tender documents, and similar materials from customers
- Prepare technical proposal packages aligned with customer requirements
- Coordinate bid package preparation with internal and external stakeholders
- Ensure proposals reflect accurate system sizing and performance expectations
System Sizing & Simulation
- Coordinate system sizing and simulation activities for BESS and hybrid systems
- Apply simulation tools to determine optimal sizing and performance outcomes
- Evaluate grid integration requirements for proposed energy storage solutions
- Assess PV and Wind plant integration scenarios with BESS where applicable
Cross-Functional Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the proposal process
- Liaise with customers, partners, and project teams during development phases
- Support collaboration across value streams to keep projects aligned and on schedule
- Communicate technical requirements clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Project Lifecycle Technical Support
- Provide technical support across various value streams throughout project development
- Support projects continuously from early development through commissioning
- Travel domestically and internationally (~20%) to visit customers, sites, events, and partners
- Deliver quality, timely output while working under minimal supervision
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Power Systems, or similar)
Experience Requirements
- 4-7 years of experience in a similar industry or role (Minimum requirement)
- Background in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), PCS, or EMS preferred
- Egyptian candidates preferred; open to relocation between Egypt and the UAE
Essential Skills
- Good knowledge of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Power Conditioning Systems (PCS), Energy Management Systems (EMS), and grid integration
- Simulation experience for BESS and hybrid systems sizing and performance is highly desirable
