Multi-Subcontractor Coordination: Receive, manage, and federate multiple subcontractor models — leading clash detection and coordination meetings across the full project team
Position Overview
The BIM Manager at CSCEC Middle East in Dubai receives and manages multiple subcontractor models, coordinates all BIM reporting processes weekly and monthly with updated Temporary, Logistics, and Permanent Works in 4D and 5D reporting, creates BIM execution plans following project specifications and workflow from LOD 250 through to LOD 500 and handover to FM, maintains and analyses federated models for coordination purposes, reviews and analyses clash detection, manages communication of conflicts, schedules and facilitates coordination meetings with technical and construction teams, coordinates with BIM service providers and subcontractors, compiles contract BIM closeout documentation, assists with construction coordination and scheduling, and participates in job layout driven by 3D model data.
Why This Role Matters: As BIM Manager at CSCEC Middle East in Dubai, you are the digital construction authority on some of the city’s most significant newly awarded large-scale building projects — translating complex multi-discipline design data into a coordinated, clash-free federated model that guides every structural pour, MEP installation, and architectural finish from LOD 250 through to the as-built LOD 500 model that hands over to Facilities Management. Your BIM execution plan, clash detection reports, and 4D/5D coordination meetings keep subcontractors aligned, conflicts resolved, and the project on programme.
Key Responsibilities
BIM Model Management & Federated Coordination
- Receive and manage multiple subcontractor BIM models — ensuring compliance with project BIM standards and LOD requirements throughout each project stage
- Maintain and analyse the federated model primarily for coordination purposes — integrating architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines into a unified, coordinated model
- Review and analyse clash detection on the federated model — managing communication of both real and potential conflicts in the model with subcontractors and designers
- Participate in job layout activities driven by 3D model data — ensuring construction teams work from accurate, current model information
BIM Execution Plan & LOD Lifecycle Management
- Create and maintain the BIM Execution Plan (BEP) following project specifications and workflow — from LOD 250 coordination models through LOD 400 construction and LOD 500 as-built handover to FM
- Coordinate all BIM reporting processes weekly and monthly — incorporating updated Temporary Works, Logistics, and Permanent Works in 4D and 5D reporting formats
- Compile contract BIM closeout documentation — preparing all required as-built model data and documentation for FM handover
- Manage all required procedures to incorporate data into the coordination process throughout the project lifecycle
Stakeholder Coordination & Meeting Facilitation
- Schedule and facilitate BIM coordination meetings with technical and construction teams — wherever required throughout the project programme
- Facilitate subcontractor communication in and out of coordination meetings — ensuring all parties are aligned on model status, clashes, and resolution actions
- Meet with designers and owners as required to facilitate review of models — presenting coordination status and clash resolution progress
- Coordinate with BIM service providers and subcontractors throughout the project — managing deliverables, timelines, and compliance with the BEP
Construction Support & Virtual Construction Review
- Assist the project team with construction coordination and scheduling — integrating BIM data with construction programme and site activities
- Review Virtual Construction reporting — ensuring 4D simulation accurately reflects planned construction sequence and logistics
- Support technical and construction teams with 3D model-driven decision-making throughout the build programme
Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering — mandatory qualification
- 10+ years of relevant work experience in Building projects — with substantial BIM management responsibility
- Proven experience managing multi-subcontractor BIM models and federated model coordination at large-scale building project level
- Experience creating and maintaining BIM Execution Plans across LOD 250 through to LOD 500 and FM handover
- Proficiency in clash detection, 4D/5D BIM reporting, and BIM coordination meeting facilitation
- Strong understanding of BIM workflows, standards, and integration with construction processes
