Coordination Engineer Jobs UAE 2026

A leading engineering and infrastructure organisation in the UAE is seeking an experienced and proactive Coordination Engineer to manage, facilitate, and resolve multi-discipline engineering coordination across Civil, Structural, MEP, and infrastructure projects. This senior technical role bridges design disciplines, manages RFIs and technical submittals, conducts clash detection across federated models, coordinates consultant and contractor interfaces, monitors project schedules, and ensures all engineering deliverables are produced and reviewed in line with project specifications, quality standards, and authority requirements — across some of the UAE’s most active and ambitious infrastructure development programmes.

About This Coordination Engineer Opportunity

Project Types: Civil infrastructure, building construction, MEP systems, roadways, utilities, and large-scale mixed-use or master development projects across the UAE

Coordination Scope: Multi-discipline interface management — Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire, and ICT disciplines

Technical Tools: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360, MS Project — for clash detection, coordination drawing production, and project scheduling

Stakeholders: Consultants, EPC contractors, subcontractors, authority liaisons, project management teams, and client representatives

Why This Coordination Engineer Role Stands Out

Cross-Discipline Technical Authority: Act as the engineering interface between all design disciplines — ensuring coordinated, clash-free, and constructable solutions are delivered to site

Full Project Lifecycle Coordination: From design coordination and RFI management through construction phase interface resolution and as-built documentation

UAE Infrastructure Scale: Work across some of the UAE’s most ambitious infrastructure and development programmes — combining technical precision with real project impact

BIM & Digital Coordination: Apply Navisworks clash detection, BIM 360, and Revit coordination workflows — contributing to digital-first project delivery

Position Overview

This Coordination Engineer in the UAE manages multi-discipline design coordination across civil, structural, MEP, and infrastructure disciplines — facilitating RFI reviews, technical submittal management, design clarifications, and consultant-contractor interface resolution. The role reviews design packages and shop drawings for coordination compliance, conducts clash detection and coordinates resolution across federated Navisworks models, chairs and facilitates coordination meetings, monitors project design and construction schedules, prepares coordination reports and meeting minutes, ensures designs comply with authority requirements and project specifications, and maintains accurate coordination documentation throughout the project lifecycle from design through construction and handover.

Why This Role Matters: As Coordination Engineer in the UAE, you are the technical glue that holds complex multi-discipline engineering projects together — preventing the coordination failures that cause expensive rework, construction delays, and RFI backlogs on UAE infrastructure programmes. By managing design interfaces between civil, structural, MEP, and ICT disciplines through rigorous clash detection, disciplined RFI management, and proactive coordination meetings, you ensure that the first time a pipe, duct, beam, or conduit is installed on site — it is in exactly the right place, at the right level, with no surprises. That precision saves time, money, and frustration at every level of the project.

Key Responsibilities

Multi-Discipline Design Coordination & Interface Management

  • Manage, facilitate, and resolve multi-discipline design coordination across Civil, Structural, Architectural, MEP, Fire, and ICT engineering disciplines throughout the project lifecycle
  • Review design packages, coordination drawings, and shop drawings for inter-discipline compliance — identifying conflicts and driving resolution before construction impact
  • Conduct clash detection using Navisworks and BIM 360 across federated multi-discipline models — coordinating clash resolution with responsible disciplines and contractors
  • Manage the consultant-contractor interface — facilitating timely design clarification, technical information exchange, and coordination issue resolution across all project parties

RFI Management, Technical Submittals & Documentation

  • Manage the RFI (Request for Information) process — receiving, tracking, coordinating responses, and distributing resolutions within contractually required timeframes
  • Review and manage technical submittals — shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and IFC drawings — for coordination compliance prior to approval
  • Prepare and maintain the coordination issues register, RFI log, submittal register, and action tracker — ensuring all coordination items are tracked to resolution
  • Maintain accurate coordination meeting minutes, technical correspondence records, and coordination documentation throughout construction

Coordination Meetings, Schedule Monitoring & Reporting

  • Chair and facilitate multi-discipline coordination meetings — setting agendas, capturing actions, and following through to resolution confirmation
  • Monitor project design and construction schedules — identifying coordination bottlenecks, schedule risks, and recommending corrective actions
  • Prepare regular coordination status reports for the Project Management team — highlighting outstanding issues, schedule impacts, and resolved conflicts
  • Liaise with authority representatives and approval bodies on coordination matters requiring external technical review or regulatory input

Quality, Compliance & Constructability

  • Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, quality standards, authority requirements, and applicable international codes
  • Review designs for constructability — identifying coordination challenges that may affect site installation sequence, methodology, or safety
  • Coordinate as-built drawing production and documentation handover at project completion — ensuring accurate record of coordinated installed conditions

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 5+ years of multi-discipline engineering coordination experience on infrastructure, building, or mixed-use projects in the UAE or GCC
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD — coordination drawing production, layout, and annotation
  • Proficiency in Revit and Navisworks for BIM coordination, clash detection, and federated model management
  • Experience managing RFI processes, technical submittals, and multi-discipline coordination documentation
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, structural interfaces, and civil engineering coordination principles
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with MS Project or equivalent scheduling tools for project monitoring

Preferred Experience

  • Experience on large-scale UAE infrastructure or master development projects
  • BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud platform administration experience
  • Familiarity with UAE authority submission requirements and approval processes
  • Experience with document control and project management information system (PMIS) tools
