Position Overview
The Operations trainee will support and progressively take ownership of inspection and repair operations within the Gas Turbine (GT) cell at the Jebel Ali Service Centre (JASC). The role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to shop operations while developing strong foundations in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and culture (SQDCC), working closely with experienced team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of processes.

Key Responsibilities
Continuous Improvement & Lean Practices
- Participate in and support Kaizen events within the GT cell, contributing ideas and actions
- Assist in implementing and sustaining lean lines using 5S, VSM, Standard Work, and Daily Management Systems
Operational Excellence & Collaboration
- Support daily operations to help achieve operational excellence across SQDCC
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Materials teams to identify and address bottlenecks
Mentorship & Problem Solving
- Receive ongoing mentorship from experienced team members and actively engage in learning opportunities
- Participate in structured problem-solving activities using daily management systems
Documentation, Safety & Innovation
- Support development, documentation, and sustainment of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Promote and support a safe working environment, prioritizing personal and team safety
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new technologies, tools, or methodologies
- Actively participate in EHS Framework Elements and safety improvement projects
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or another relevant technical discipline)
- Foundational understanding of inspection and repair processes, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT), and quality systems
- Academic, project-based, or internship exposure to Lean tools such as Kaizen, Standard Work, VSM, and 5S
Essential Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, applying structured thinking to practical challenges
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow in a hands-on operational environment
