Position Overview
Seeking a skilled Bit Welder with experience in TIG/MIG welding, hard facing, brazing, metal fabrication, and grinding to support bit manufacturing operations while meeting NOV Quality and HSE requirements. The role requires reading technical drawings, assembling components per engineering specifications, and ensuring welding setups are approved before production.

Key Responsibilities
Welding & Fabrication
- Perform TIG/MIG welding, hard facing, brazing, and other metal welding processes
- Assemble components according to engineering drawings and established procedures
Technical Setup & Precision Work
- Read and follow technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Set up and adjust equipment to ensure proper alignment of parts
- Ensure welding setups are approved by the senior operator or supervisor before production
Quality, Inspection & Maintenance
- Use standard measuring instruments and inspection techniques
- Perform required manual grinding and hot-work activities
- Carry out operator-level machine maintenance and daily workplace cleaning
Safety & Compliance
- Lift, position, and secure workpieces safely during welding operations
- Comply with all NOV Quality, HSE, and operational requirements
- Support other operations, shifts, or weekend work when required
🎓 Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, Metal Fabrication, or Welding Processes
- Vocational training with 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent practical experience
Experience Requirements
- Previous experience in production processes or light/heavy fabrication is preferred
- Experience in manual grinding operations
Essential Skills
- Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings and schematics
- Good understanding of manufacturing shop practices and procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
- Good teamwork skills with the ability to work independently
- Knowledge of Quality and HSE requirements
