Key Responsibilities

Food Safety Inspections & Audits

  • Conduct comprehensive food safety inspections and audits following QIMA/WQS and scheme owner rules and protocols
  • Develop accurate, well-structured inspection and audit reports within all assigned client timeframes
  • Summarize and evaluate inspection and audit findings with professional analytical precision
  • Communicate findings, results, and corrective action requirements clearly with client representatives

Audit Planning & Execution

  • Develop effective, comprehensive audit plans for all assigned field inspections and client visits
  • Complete all agricultural audits within determined timeframes and agreed quality benchmarks
  • Apply GLOBALG.A.P. and PGFS scheme requirements consistently across every client engagement
  • Implement HACCP principles, ISO 9001 / ISO 22000 frameworks, and food safety regulations throughout audit processes

Agricultural Compliance & Food Safety Standards

  • Apply FSMA Produce Safety Rule guidelines and food hygiene training knowledge across all site evaluations
  • Assess site management practices, water usage, fertilizer handling, equipment, facilities, and personal hygiene
  • Identify non-conformances, document findings, and provide clear, actionable guidance for corrective measures
  • Stay current with evolving food safety regulations, agricultural standards, and global certification scheme updates

Field Travel & Client Engagement

  • Travel up to 80% of working time by automobile and airplane to agricultural production sites and farms
  • Conduct weekend travel when necessary to meet client utilization and scheduling requirements
  • Participate in possible international travel assignments for cross-border certification and compliance trials
  • Represent QIMA professionally and with integrity at all client sites, farms, and industry touchpoints

Reporting & Documentation

  • Produce detailed, professionally written audit reports with clear findings and evidence documentation
  • Maintain organized, accurate audit records in compliance with QIMA systems and client requirements
  • Ensure all audit documentation meets scheme owner requirements for GLOBALG.A.P. and PGFS standards
  • Submit all reports within determined timeframes to support timely client certification decisions

 Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Degree, diploma, or qualification in agricultural, crop-based, or food-related subject — minimum 2-year duration
  • Equivalent qualifications in food science, agronomy, horticulture, plant science, or related agricultural disciplines accepted

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on work experience in the agricultural sector — field experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of GLOBALG.A.P. and PGFS certification schemes in agricultural operations
  • Background in food safety compliance, crop production, grower support, or agricultural quality assurance
  • Experience conducting or supporting agricultural inspections, farm audits, or compliance evaluations a strong advantage

Certifications & Training

  • 16-hour or 2-day HACCP training course based on Codex Alimentarius principles — certificate preferred
  • Lead Auditor Course — minimum 40 hours / one full week (ISO 9001 or ISO 22000 or equivalent)
  • Food Hygiene Training covering site management, water, fertilizer, equipment, facilities and personal hygiene — minimum 8 hours
  • FSMA Produce Safety Rule (PSA) training with practical case study and regulatory application components
  • Note: QIMA provides and pays for all required training — GGAP Lead Auditor, HACCP, PSA; PGFS Lead Auditor, HACCP
