Position Overview
This Laboratory Technician role involves conducting sample collection, testing, and inspection activities in accordance with standardized procedures and international best practices. You will ensure accurate testing of materials, support production through regular inspection and quality assurance processes, collect and analyze samples using appropriate testing methods and laboratory equipment, conduct routine production line inspections, and maintain efficient sampling and testing processes to meet turnaround time targets.

Key Responsibilities
Sample Collection & Testing
- Collect, receive, label, and analyze samples using appropriate testing methods and laboratory equipment
- Ensure all samples are collected accurately and within required timelines
- Maintain proper sample handling procedures and documentation
- Perform physical testing in line with approved protocols
Production Line Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Conduct routine inspection of production lines to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards
- Monitor production processes for adherence to standardized procedures
- Support production team through regular quality assurance activities
- Ensure all laboratory procedures are performed according to international best practices
Market Returns & Quality Control
- Monitor and inspect returned or damaged goods from the market
- Ensure proper documentation and accountability for returned products
- Investigate quality issues and provide technical support for corrective actions
- Maintain detailed records of quality control activities
Laboratory Operations & Efficiency
- Maintain efficient sampling and testing processes to meet turnaround time targets
- Ensure timely reporting of laboratory results to relevant departments
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and standardized procedures
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as required
Food Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local and international food safety standards
- Support certification activities and regulatory compliance
- Maintain knowledge of current food safety regulations and best practices
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for laboratory processes
Job Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology
- OR related field in food technology or quality assurance
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4-5 years experience in water/beverages manufacturing companies
- Hands-on laboratory experience in food and beverage industry
- Experience with quality control and testing procedures
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- Good knowledge of local and international food safety standards and certifications
- Familiarity with laboratory best practices, including Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Understanding of quality assurance processes and procedures
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment operation and maintenance
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory testing methods and equipment
- Experience with sample collection and analysis procedures
- Understanding of production line inspection techniques
- Knowledge of documentation and record-keeping requirements
- Computer literacy for laboratory information systems
