Position Overview
The Supply Chain Planer (m/w/d) in Nuremberg works at the critical intersection of production, materials management and supplier relationships — steering customer order planning, conducting inventory analyses, developing capacity-oriented production plans, managing supplier bottlenecks proactively and reporting on quality and cost KPIs including internal error costs, excess consumption and quality standards. This is a strategic, data-driven supply chain role for a professional who combines analytical thinking, ERP expertise (Microsoft Dynamics Navision), strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a German-speaking industrial manufacturing environment — starting September 2026 through Randstad Professional.
Why This Role Matters: In a Nuremberg industrial company, the Supply Chain Planer is the person who keeps everything moving on time — from ensuring raw materials are available before production starts, to coordinating with international suppliers when bottlenecks threaten delivery schedules, to building the capacity-oriented production plans that allow manufacturing to run at optimal efficiency. Without a skilled, analytically driven Supply Chain Planer at the interface between production, materials and suppliers, the entire value chain slows down — and in a competitive industrial environment, timing, material availability and production efficiency directly determine commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
Order Planning & Inventory Analysis
- Steer customer orders proactively and anticipate material requirements — conducting ongoing inventory analyses to ensure maximum material availability at all times across all production runs and product categories at the Nuremberg facility.
- Monitor stock levels, lead times and demand signals continuously — identifying inventory risks early and taking preventive action to avoid production stoppages or delivery delays caused by material shortages.
- Manage order planning activities with precision and foresight — translating customer demand into accurate, timely production and material procurement requirements that keep the supply chain running smoothly and on schedule.
Production & Material Control
- Develop capacity-oriented production plans that optimally align personnel availability, production equipment and material flow — enabling manufacturing to operate at maximum efficiency within the constraints of real-world resource capacity.
- Coordinate closely with production management, warehouse and procurement teams to synchronize material flow with production schedules — preventing material shortfalls, overstock and production downtime through proactive cross-functional communication.
- Apply ERP system expertise (Microsoft Dynamics Navision) to plan, monitor and adjust production and material control activities in real time — maintaining accurate data integrity within the system as the basis for reliable planning decisions.
Bottleneck & Supplier Management
- Engage proactively with domestic and international suppliers to manage supply risks, resolve delivery bottlenecks and find solution-oriented approaches to supply chain disruptions before they impact production schedules.
- Build and maintain strong, communicative supplier relationships — serving as the central supply chain contact for suppliers and escalating supply risks appropriately within the organization when independent resolution is not possible.
- Monitor supply chain risk indicators continuously — identifying potential bottlenecks early and implementing contingency measures that protect the Nuremberg facility’s production continuity and customer delivery commitments.
Quality & Cost Reporting
- Determine, analyze and report relevant supply chain KPIs — including internal error costs, excess consumption rates, material efficiency metrics and quality compliance indicators — providing management with accurate, timely data for operational decision-making.
- Develop and maintain structured cost and quality reporting that highlights supply chain performance trends, identifies improvement opportunities and quantifies the financial impact of supply chain deviations on production costs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing analytical insights from KPI reporting — contributing supply chain data and root cause analysis to cross-functional improvement projects across the Nuremberg facility.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Qualification
- Completed degree in Business Engineering (Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen), Business Administration with a focus on Logistics / Supply Chain Management — OR a commercial qualification as a Fachwirt/Meister or comparable professional development pathway relevant to supply chain planning.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex supply chain data and operational challenges into concrete, actionable planning solutions — a core intellectual requirement for this central supply chain interface role.
Experience & Technical Requirements
- Several years of practical experience in logistics, disposition (materials planning), purchasing or sales — with a clear connection to modern logistics processes, supply chain planning methodologies and industrial manufacturing environments.
- Confident, practical knowledge of ERP systems — ideally Microsoft Dynamics Navision — as well as very good MS Office skills with particular strength in MS Excel for data analysis, reporting and planning activities.
- Negotiation-level German (verhandlungssicheres Deutsch) and very good written and spoken English — both language skills are mandatory for daily interaction with domestic and international suppliers, internal teams and management.
