Position Overview
This Procurement Agent Engineer role owns Procurement Agents and the underlying System AI Harness end to end, from architecture and design through implementation, validation, and continuous iteration. You will design and evolve core backend services, business logic, and integrations behind AI-native procurement, lead the design and productionization of AI Agent capabilities including planning and multi-step reasoning, prototype and evaluate emerging AI techniques, partner with product and cross-functional teams on ambiguous problems, drive reliability and performance improvements, and mentor teammates through reviews and architecture guidance.

Agent Architecture & Ownership
- Own Procurement Agents and the underlying System AI Harness end to end – from architecture through production
- Lead medium-to-large initiatives to production, driving mid-to-long-term technical roadmaps
Backend & AI Agent Development
- Design, build, and evolve core backend services, business logic, data flows, and integrations
- Lead the design and productionization of AI Agent capabilities: planning, tool use, memory, multi-step reasoning, and orchestration
Prototyping & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Prototype rapidly and evaluate emerging AI techniques, turning proven approaches into platform capabilities
- Partner with product, design, and cross-functional teams to break down ambiguous, complex problems
Reliability, Performance & Mentorship
- Drive continuous improvements in reliability, performance, and code quality
- Mentor teammates through reviews, architecture guidance, and knowledge sharing
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- 4+ years of backend development experience, with a proven track record owning complex, medium-to-large systems end to end
- Hands-on AI project experience (LLM applications, Agents, RAG, tool/function calling, or AI-powered features)
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Golang, Java, or Python, with solid backend architecture experience
- Solid distributed-systems foundation: messaging middleware, relational databases, caching, and async processing
- Strong performance analysis, reliability engineering, and observability practices
Preferred Skills
- Experience building platformized products or shared services across multiple domains
- Deep experience with large-scale, high-concurrency distributed services
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG, function/tool calling, and agent orchestration
- Demonstrated technical leadership driving cross-team alignment and mentoring junior engineers
