Position Overview
This Microbiologist role involves receiving, preparing, and testing samples in accordance with approved sampling plans and ISO requirements, performing microbiological analysis of finished products, raw materials, water, surfaces, and other samples with full traceability. You will review and interpret laboratory results, prepare and authorize laboratory reports, coordinate testing activities, and maintain documentation through LIMS, SAP, and other quality management systems.

Key Responsibilities
Sample Testing & Microbiological Analysis
- Receive, prepare, and test samples per approved sampling plans and laboratory procedures
- Perform microbiological analysis of finished products, raw materials, water, surfaces, and air samples
- Review, interpret, and evaluate laboratory results against established standards
Documentation, Reporting & Systems
- Prepare and authorize laboratory reports and maintain accurate test records
- Maintain laboratory documentation and traceability through LIMS, SAP, and other systems
- Coordinate laboratory testing activities to ensure accurate and timely results
Compliance, Improvement & Cross-Functional Support
- Support proficiency testing, external laboratory activities, and validation studies
- Partner with Production, Quality Assurance, and R&D on new product development
- Contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory quality systems per ISO 17025 and GLP
- Ensure laboratory equipment calibration and promote a safe, compliant laboratory environment
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Technology, Veterinary Sciences, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in microbiology, laboratory operations, or food quality
- Strong knowledge of ISO 17025 requirements and laboratory quality management systems
- Experience working with laboratory systems such as LIMS and SAP
Essential Skills
- Business-level proficiency in English
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality and food safety standards
- Based in Jeddah or willing to relocate to Jeddah
Preferred Qualifications
- Arabic language skills considered an advantage; Portuguese is a plus
