Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
FSTD Maintenance — PMTs, Daily Readiness & SFT Support
- Support Flight Simulator Training Devices (FSTDs) and Cabin Crew Training Devices — attending maintenance calls, performing device setup, conversions, and demonstrations as required
- Independently carry out Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) and Daily Readiness (DR) checks on training devices and associated systems to prescribed CAE standards
- Ensure all PMTs are completed according to standards, properly signed off, and that all generated deficiencies are followed up and closed within required timelines
- Assist during Simulator Flight Tests (SFTs) and Pilot Validation Checks (PVCs) — performing snag clearance to ensure simulator availability and qualification compliance
QTG Completion, Troubleshooting & Deficiency Management
- Ensure all recurrent QTG (Qualification Test Guide) runs are completed on schedule — actioning and following up on all deficiencies identified during QTG testing
- Troubleshoot QTG-related issues — collaborating with the QTG specialist and senior colleagues as needed to diagnose and resolve failures that affect simulator qualification status
- Coordinate with senior colleagues to ensure snags and SPRs (Software Problem Reports) are actioned within SLA timelines — maintaining simulator availability for training delivery
- Monitor Simissues and action or update items assigned to the on-site team — maintaining accurate and current records of all open technical issues and their resolution status
Technical Troubleshooting & AOG Support
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues on training devices — covering electronic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems — and promptly update related Deficiency Records (DRs)
- Support senior colleagues during Aircraft on Ground (AOG) situations — maintaining strong communication with logistics, scheduling, and training teams to minimise training disruption
- Perform required tests and provide clear, concise technical feedback — interpreting schematics and technical documents relevant to simulation devices throughout
- Use the Maintenance Management System to record, track, and review all maintenance activities — ensuring traceability, accuracy, and completeness of the maintenance record
EHS Compliance & Engineering Standards
- Comply with CAE’s local and global Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards and safe-working procedures at all times — demonstrating strong duty of care for personal and team safety
- Apply knowledge of analog and digital principles, avionics, motion systems, and visual systems across all FSTD maintenance and troubleshooting activities
- Use test equipment and software diagnostic tools appropriately and safely — maintaining calibration awareness and equipment condition throughout

Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or an Aviation-related field (REQUIRED)
Experience & Technical Skills
- 3–5 years of relevant technical work experience in electronics, electrical, aviation, or simulation engineering environments (REQUIRED)
- Suitable understanding of aircraft terminology and simulation training devices
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical documents relevant to simulation devices
- Knowledge of analog and digital principles and theory
- Troubleshooting skills for electronic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Skilled in the use of test equipment and software diagnostic tools
