Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and manage Engineering operations and teams across both hotel properties — setting the technical direction, performance standards, and safety culture across the cluster
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop the Engineering team — building technical capability, succession depth, and a strong safety and performance culture throughout
- Work closely with hotel departments — Rooms, Food & Beverage, Spa, and Operations — to ensure Engineering supports guest satisfaction and operational excellence at all times
- Conduct regular property inspections across both hotels — ensuring maintenance issues are identified and addressed promptly before they affect guests or operations
MEP, HVAC, BMS & Building Systems Maintenance
- Ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance of all MEP, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, BMS, fire and life safety systems, and hotel equipment across both properties
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance and asset replacement programmes — ensuring building systems remain reliable, compliant, and operationally efficient throughout their lifecycle
- Ensure technical emergencies and equipment breakdowns are handled effectively and with minimal disruption to hotel operations — applying structured emergency response protocols
- Apply strong knowledge of MEP, HVAC, BMS, fire and life safety systems, and building operations to maintain the engineering standards expected at a luxury NH Collection property
Compliance, CAPEX & Energy Management
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Civil Defence, health and safety requirements, and NH Collection company engineering standards across both properties
- Manage Engineering budgets, expenses, CAPEX projects, contracts, and annual maintenance agreements — applying sound financial discipline across the full cluster engineering spend
- Lead energy conservation and sustainability initiatives — optimising electricity, water, and utility consumption across both hotel properties through systematic monitoring and improvement
- Manage renovations, refurbishments, technical projects, contractors, and suppliers — ensuring project delivery to scope, budget, and quality standards with minimal operational disruption
Regulatory Compliance & Guest Experience Support
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UAE and Dubai regulatory and safety requirements — ensuring both properties are consistently compliant with Dubai Municipality and Dubai Civil Defence standards
- Manage contractor relationships, supplier agreements, and specialist maintenance vendors — ensuring value, quality, and compliance across all external engineering services
- Ensure that all building systems and facilities across both hotel properties maintain the operational standard expected by guests of a premium NH Collection luxury brand
- Report engineering performance, budget status, CAPEX progress, and key technical issues to Hotel General Managers and ownership representatives as required
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical field (REQUIRED)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years of Engineering experience, preferably within luxury or upscale hospitality (REQUIRED)
- At least 3–5 years in a senior Engineering leadership role — Chief Engineer, Director of Engineering, or equivalent (REQUIRED)
- Multi-property or cluster Engineering experience is a strong advantage
- Strong knowledge of MEP, HVAC, BMS, fire and life safety systems, preventive maintenance, and building operations
