Position Overview
This Slickline Operator role involves operating slickline units and executing downhole operations per approved procedures, performing rig-up and rig-down activities, running and retrieving downhole tools and memory gauges, controlling winch speed and line tension while monitoring weight indicators, conducting jarring operations within safe working load limits, participating in PCE pressure testing, performing equipment inspections and maintaining operational records, and mentoring Assistant Operators and Trainees.

Key Responsibilities
Slickline Unit Operation
- Operate slickline units and execute downhole operations in line with approved procedures
- Perform rig-up and rig-down activities and support well intervention operations
Downhole Tool Management
- Run and retrieve downhole tools, valves, plugs and memory gauges
- Control winch speed, line tension and depth while monitoring weight indicator responses
- Conduct jarring operations within safe working load limits
Well Integrity & Testing
- Participate in PCE pressure testing and well integrity verification activities
Equipment Inspection & Records
- Perform pre-job and post-job equipment inspections and maintain operational records
- Monitor wire condition, perform wire tests and maintain accurate wire logs
Mentorship
- Support and mentor Assistant Operators and Trainees on safe work practices
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Technical Diploma preferred
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 4 years of Slickline experience
- Minimum 2 years in a Slickline Operator role
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Slickline Assistant Operator prior to promotion
Essential Skills
- Strong knowledge of slickline unit operations, toolstrings, completion hardware, PCE and wire mechanics
- Experience setting/retrieving downhole tools and conducting well intervention activities
Certification Requirements
- IWCF Well Intervention Certification (Level 2 or equivalent)
- Valid BOSIET/HUET and H2S certifications
- ADNOC PTW awareness and Rigging & Slinging/Banksman certification preferred
