Al Maha, A Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa, a timeless sanctuary hidden among the rolling dunes of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, is seeking a skilled Artisan Mechanic responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair and servicing of mechanical equipment, vehicles and machinery across the property.

Core Function: Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery
Vehicle Servicing: Servicing company vehicles, utility vehicles, carts and other equipment
Component Maintenance: Checking engines, gearboxes, belts, bearings, pulleys, chains and brakes
Fabrication Skills: Carrying out welding, cutting, drilling, grinding and basic fabrication work

Position Overview
This Artisan Mechanic role involves carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment, inspecting, diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults and breakdowns, maintaining engines, pumps, motors, compressors and generators, performing oil changes, lubrication and routine servicing, servicing company vehicles and utility vehicles, carrying out welding and basic fabrication work when required, and maintaining accurate maintenance records and workshop safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment and machinery
- Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot and repair mechanical faults and breakdowns
- Follow the planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedule for all assigned equipment
Equipment & Vehicle Servicing
- Maintain and repair hotel engineering equipment, pumps, motors, compressors and generators
- Carry out servicing and basic mechanical repairs of company vehicles, utility vehicles and carts
- Check and maintain engines, gearboxes, belts, bearings, pulleys, chains, shafts and brakes
- Perform oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement and belt adjustment
Workshop & Fabrication
- Dismantle, inspect, repair, replace and reassemble defective mechanical components
- Use hand tools, power tools, workshop equipment and measuring instruments safely
- Carry out welding, cutting, drilling, grinding and basic fabrication work when required
- Maintain the workshop, tools and working areas in a clean and safe condition
Property-Wide Mechanical Support
- Assist maintaining swimming pool equipment, kitchen equipment and laundry equipment
- Attend mechanical breakdowns promptly and minimize equipment downtime
- Conduct regular inspections and report defects or potential failures
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, spare parts and equipment condition
Team Support & Emergency Response
- Support other Engineering team members with projects and renovation works
- Respond to guest and operational requests professionally
- Participate in emergency response and after-hours maintenance duties when required
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Technical qualification, ITI, vocational certificate or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Motor Vehicle or Mechanical Maintenance
- Minimum Technical, Trade or Vocational Certificate/Diploma or equivalent
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years hotel or related work experience
- Previous experience as a mechanic, maintenance mechanic or similar role, preferably in a hotel, resort, facilities or industrial environment
Essential Skills
- Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, engines, pumps, motors and mechanical components
- Basic knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems is an advantage
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
- Ability to use workshop tools and mechanical testing equipment safely
- Welding and fabrication experience is an advantage
- UAE driving licence is an advantage
