Key Responsibilities
Operational & Business Data Management, Validation & Analysis
- Collect, store, validate, and maintain the integrity of DANS’s operational and business data — applying rigorous data governance and quality management practices to the aviation ATM and business datasets that underpin DANS’s operational performance reporting, commercial billing, and organisational analysis outputs
- Conduct analysis of operational and business data — applying SQL, statistical software, Python, and other analytical tools to extract meaningful insights from DANS’s complex, high-volume ATM operational data, and provide reports based on analysis in support of internal and external stakeholder requests
- Compile analysis summaries — translating complex aviation operational data analysis into clear, concise, and actionable summaries that serve the diverse information needs of DANS’s internal management, operations, finance, and external regulatory and airline stakeholders
- Produce organisational analysis documents, procedures, processes, and methodologies per organisation standards — maintaining the formal documentation framework that ensures DANS’s analytical work is reproducible, auditable, and aligned with organisational and regulatory requirements
Wake Vortex Analysis & ATM Concept Assessment
- Conduct wake vortex analysis — applying specialist aviation analytical methodology to characterise wake vortex behaviour across aircraft types operating in Dubai’s terminal airspace, supporting the safe separation standards and operational procedures that protect following aircraft from wake turbulence hazards in one of the world’s most demanding high-density airspace environments
- Design, develop, and maintain metrics, reports, analysis, and dashboards supporting the assessment of ATM concepts and DANS support functions — providing the analytical infrastructure that enables DANS operations management to monitor ATM performance, identify improvement opportunities, and evaluate the operational impact of proposed ATM concept changes
- Support the assessment of ATM concepts — contributing analytical evidence and performance data to the evaluation of new Air Traffic Management procedures, technologies, and operational concepts being considered for implementation in Dubai’s airspace
Air Carrier Billing, Revenue Reporting & Invoice Investigation
- Provide necessary air carrier billing data and reports for the invoicing and collection of revenue from airlines using DANS navigation services — producing the accurate, complete, and well-documented billing data that supports the commercial revenue function of DANS’s navigation service charge invoicing to airline operators
- Perform necessary investigations and prepare reports for answering queries related to air carrier billing invoices — conducting the detailed data investigations required to respond to airline billing queries with accurate, evidence-based explanations that resolve disputes efficiently and maintain the commercial relationships between DANS and its airline clients
- Provide training to improve skills and competency of team members — sharing analytical knowledge, tool proficiency, and aviation data expertise with less experienced DANS colleagues, contributing to the technical capability development of the broader organisational analysis team
Qualifications, Education & Experience
Essential Requirements
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, a numerical field, or equivalent relevant experience — with Finance, Business, or Science degree also welcomed as qualifying educational background
- Minimum 5 years of relevant analysis experience — demonstrating progressive analytical capability and data management experience in a complex operational or commercial environment
- In-depth knowledge of SQL and database management — the core technical competency for DANS’s operational data collection, storage, validation, and analytical querying requirements
- Knowledge of programming languages including Java, Python, and Visual Basic — applied to data processing, automation, and analytical tool development in an aviation data environment
- Knowledge of relational databases and statistical software packages — for the quantitative analytical work that DANS’s ATM performance analysis and organisational reporting requires
