An international industrial manufacturing business in Brandenburg is looking for a detail-oriented Chief Accountant. You will lead the accounting function, set financial policies and oversee monthly reporting in line with German accounting standards (HGB).

Position Overview
This Chief Accountant role covers general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, monthly balance sheet, P&L and cash flow reports, year-end closing and preparing data for the tax advisor.

Key Responsibilities
Policy & Reporting
- Set and monitor accounting policy
- Prepare monthly reports: balance sheet, P&L and cash flow
- Ensure compliance with local and international accounting standards and internal financial policies
Ledger & Operations
- Manage the general ledger, including reconciliations, journal entries and accruals
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable for accuracy and timeliness
- Monitor cash flow, working capital and financial risks
Closing, Tax & Planning
- Coordinate year-end closing and work with external auditors
- Prepare data for the tax advisor for tax returns
- Support budgeting and forecasting and align finance with production and procurement
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Completed university degree in a relevant field
Experience
- At least 3 years as an accountant, ideally in manufacturing (a big preference)
- Sound knowledge of proper accounting principles, tax and commercial law
- Confident with German accounting rules, especially HGB
Advantage
- Experience with MS Dynamics
- Polish, Ukrainian or Russian
Languages
- Fluent German and English at B2 or above
