Position Overview
As Grid Connection and SCADA Engineer, you support planning, coordination and execution of grid connections for utility-scale solar PV, BESS and hybrid plants. You assess grid capacity and connection point options, review grid requests (Netzanfragen), and prepare application packages for DSOs and TSOs, including NAB documentation, E.8 and E.9 forms, single-line diagrams and protection concepts. You support plant certification, work with EPC, engineering and development teams, and help with energisation, compliance testing and commissioning, while tracking VDE-AR-N 4110/4120/4130 and EEG requirements.

In this role you work on real utility-scale projects, learn from senior engineers and get contact with grid operators, certifiers and technology vendors. Key Responsibilities
Grid Connection Planning
- Assess grid capacity, PCC options and interconnection feasibility
- Review grid connection requests (Netzanfragen) and operator requirements
Applications & Certification
- Prepare technical application packages for DSOs and TSOs, including NAB, E.8, E.9, single-line diagrams and protection concepts
- Support plant certification (Anlagenzertifikat) with certifiers and vendors
Project & SCADA Coordination
- Work with EPC, Electrical Engineering and Project Development teams
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and resolve SCADA and compliance issues
- Be the technical contact for grid operators and certification bodies
Energisation & Compliance
- Support energisation (Inbetriebnahme), compliance testing and commissioning
- Track milestones and changes in VDE-AR-N 4110/4120/4130 and EEG
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- At least 2 years in grid connection, electrical engineering or renewable energy
Technical Skills
- Solid understanding of MV and HV components, switchgear, cables, transformers and protection concepts
- Knowledge of SCADA architecture, data loggers, network switches and Power Plant Controllers
- Familiarity with VDE-AR-N 41xx, TABs and other standards
- Practical AutoCAD and Microsoft Office skills
Languages & Other
- German and English at minimum B2
- Valid driving licence and travel up to ~30%
- Plus: PowerFactory DIgSILENT or a switching permit for MV switchgear
