Air Q Limited is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Officer to join its team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. It works closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Production, and R&D and calls for 2–5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Shipment Modes: Domestic and international shipments by air, sea, and road
Reporting Line: Reports directly to the Logistics Coordinator and functionally escalates to the Head of Supply Chain
Systems: ERP such as Odoo or SAP (an advantage) and shipment tracking tools
Why This Logistics Role Stands Out
Aerospace Context: Skills listed include aerospace logistics, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and aerospace parts inventory
Broad Exposure: Work across customs, freight cost management, warehouse coordination, and supplier management
Cross-Department Role: Support Production and R&D directly by prioritizing urgent materials and samples
Clear Measures: Success is tracked through defined KPIs such as on-time delivery and documentation accuracy
Position Overview
The Logistics Officer coordinates inbound and outbound shipments, transportation, import and export documentation, customs clearance, and material movements. The aim is timely availability and delivery of materials, components, equipment, and finished goods, supporting uninterrupted production, project requirements, and overall supply chain efficiency. You will work with internal teams and external partners — freight forwarders, shipping lines, courier companies, customs brokers, suppliers, and transport providers — while keeping accurate shipment records, comparing freight quotations, and reporting on delivery performance and costs.
Why This Role Matters: In a manufacturing and aerospace setting, a late part or a missing customs document can stall production. The Logistics Officer is the person who sees problems early — a delayed cargo, a wrong HS code, an unexpected demurrage charge — and fixes them before they reach the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Coordination
- Work closely with Procurement, Warehouse, Production, and R&D to understand material requirements, shipment priorities, and delivery schedules
- Share shipment status, expected delivery dates, and potential delays with the relevant departments
- Coordinate material transfers between internal and external warehouses and production facilities
- Prioritize urgent materials, components, samples, and equipment for manufacturing, testing, and development, and escalate issues that could affect schedules
Shipment & Transportation Management
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments by air, sea, and road with freight forwarders, shipping lines, couriers, and transport providers
- Track shipments from dispatch to final delivery and keep the shipment tracker up to date
- Verify quantities, package details, weights, dimensions, and delivery addresses before dispatch, and obtain proof of delivery
Import & Export Documentation
- Prepare, review, and verify commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, airway bills, bills of lading, and other shipping documents
- Coordinate UAE import and export customs clearance with customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Verify HS codes, product descriptions, and country of origin; collect MSDS, permits, and export licenses where applicable
- Follow up on customs approvals and resolve documentation discrepancies or clearance delays
Freight Cost Management
- Obtain and compare freight quotations, weighing cost, transit time, reliability, and delivery needs
- Work with the Head of Supply Chain on freight selection and approval
- Monitor freight charges, customs costs, handling fees, demurrage, and detention, and look for savings through consolidation and suitable Incoterms
- Verify freight invoices against approved quotations before they go for payment
Supplier Management, Reporting & Compliance
- Follow up with suppliers on cargo readiness, packaging, dispatch dates, and shipping documents
- Monitor logistics provider performance on timelines, costs, responsiveness, and documentation accuracy
- Prepare logistics reports covering shipments, delivery performance, freight costs, and clearance status, and keep ERP data accurate
- Make sure logistics activities follow company policies and applicable regulations, and recommend corrective and preventive actions for recurring issues
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in logistics, freight forwarding, shipping, or supply chain operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Practical knowledge of UAE import/export procedures and customs clearance
- Knowledge of international shipping documentation, freight forwarding, and Incoterms; familiarity with HS codes, MSDS requirements, and permits
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and shipment tracking tools; working knowledge of ERP systems such as Odoo or SAP is an advantage
- A valid UAE driving license is an added advantage
- Strong coordination, planning, follow-up, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a cost-conscious approach
