Position Overview

The Assistant Hygiene Manager at The Dubai EDITION makes sure the hotel’s food operations keep to hygiene and food safety standards. You supervise and coordinate day-to-day activity, advise colleagues on proper food handling, and provide food hygiene training for every new hire and trainee. You look across the different food operations for key areas of risk and take pre-emptive remedial action, and you offer technical advice on product labeling so the hotel meets government requirements. As part of the management team, you also help with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees. Alongside the specialist work, the job asks for the usual professional habits: follow company safety and security policies, report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to your manager, complete safety training and certifications, keep a clean and professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and address guests’ service needs politely and clearly.

Why This Role Matters: In a hotel built around guest experience, nobody wants to think about food safety, and that is exactly the point. When hygiene is handled well, it is invisible: meals arrive as expected, nobody gets ill, and the kitchen team feels confident. Getting there takes training new staff properly, checking operations regularly, and noticing weak points before they cause trouble. It also takes clear advice on labeling so the hotel stays on the right side of government rules. The assistant hygiene manager does this work day after day, and also helps develop the people doing it. In a boutique luxury hotel where the brand promises perfectionism with personality, steady hygiene standards are part of keeping that promise.
