Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in production and/or processing departments at Nestlé’s Schaumburg facility. This role focuses on ensuring employee safety, product safety/quality, and asset performance while delivering on-time production plans within lines/shift. The position requires proactive partnership with functional areas including Safety, Quality, HR, and Supply Chain to enable effective execution and delivery of product to customers.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain high standard of quality for products produced adhering to company/customer specifications
- Ensure high level of safety awareness for accident-free workplace
- Enforce adherence to site safety standards and quality regulatory compliance (PPE, LOTO, GMPs, HACCP, allergen control)
- Align departmental activities per production schedules ensuring effective material/labor utilization
- Oversee sanitation activities ensuring compliance with SSOPs, GMPs, food safety standards
- Facilitate inventory control using SAP system and monitoring SAP use by employees
- Recommend measures improving production methods, equipment performance, product quality
- Maintain/monitor process control paperwork per HACCP recommendations including SPC weight control
- Supervise department for compliance with established policies/objectives
- Oversee work activities, professional training, development of direct reports
- Approve payroll and amend timecard errors for hourly employees
- Participate/lead continuous improvement efforts controlling labor/supply costs, increasing production efficiency
Education, Skills & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or equivalent years experience preferred
- High School Diploma required
Experience Requirements
- Three (3) years Manufacturing experience required
- Two (2) years Supervisory experience required
- Previous experience in USDA regulated food facility preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees
- Ability to influence and promote change on all organizational levels
- Sound technical skills, logical ability, strong problem analysis/resolution skills with operational focus
- Good interpersonal, written and oral communications skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and digital solutions
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
