Schedule: Monday-Friday 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (8.5 hours)

Shift Differential: Competitive salary range $75,000-$80,000 for second shift supervision

Position Overview
This Quality Assurance Supervisor role involves providing work direction and supervision to quality assurance and laboratory employees ensuring DFA products meet highest food safety and quality standards. You will monitor all quality activities, ensure regulatory compliance, help build effective food safety culture, function as resource and escalation point, coach and mentor team members, and work second shift hours from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM in St. George, Utah facility.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Food Safety & Quality Program Management
- Assist quality manager in developing, implementing, and maintaining food safety and quality programs
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate standards, and customer expectations
- Complete required quality record review including laboratory documentation, CCP, PC documentation
- Write, review, and implement quality assurance procedures
- Support and maintain existing certifications (SQF, Kosher, Halal, Organic)
Laboratory & Testing Operations
- Recommend modifications or upgrades to testing procedures or equipment
- Coordinate procurement of items required for laboratory operations
- Maintain close surveillance over inspection/testing procedures and corresponding results
- Support analysis of quality data and utilize statistical process control (SPC) tools
- Develop and implement material standards with appropriate control and inspection procedures
Pathogen Environmental Monitoring & Compliance
- Partner with operations on pathogen environmental monitoring (PEM) program
- Provide oversight of swabbing program, investigation/corrective actions, mitigation activities
- Support customer, regulatory and third-party quality and food safety audits
- Investigate, find solutions, and implement remedies to quality issues and customer complaints
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise hourly employees’ activities to meet or exceed established standards and specifications
- Provide regular training, instruction, and guidance on food safety, quality, and compliance
- Complete supervisory activities including performance evaluations, mentoring, training, coaching
- Foster positive and effective work culture with direct reports
- Identify and retain highly effective personnel through proper selection and training
Continuous Improvement & Process Enhancement
- Initiate and drive continuous improvement activities
- Partner with all facility functions to resolve persistent challenges
- Support implementation of new procedures or processes
- Ensure all process, product, or infrastructure changes are understood by employees
- Follow all DFA good manufacturing practices (GMP) and corporate requirements
Education & Experience Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in food science, Agriculture, biological sciences, or related curriculum
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of quality assurance, manufacturing, or related experience
- Preferably in food, beverage, or similar facility
- Demonstrated leadership attributes or team leadership experience
- Supervisor experience preferred
Certifications Preferred
- PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification preferred
- HACCP certification preferred
- SQF Practitioner certification preferred
- May be required during course of employment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of laboratory and plant current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs)
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
- Knowledge of principles and practices of supervision, training, and personnel management
- Leadership and coaching skills
