 Position Overview

The Quality Officer role at Al Ain Hospital involves developing and implementing comprehensive quality improvement practices across healthcare services. You will coordinate development of quality frameworks and processes, establish quality standards and operational procedures, disseminate quality assurance knowledge, conduct quality audits, and perform statistical analysis. This critical position supports SEHA’s mission to deliver excellence in patient care, safety, and healthcare quality across the region.

As a Quality Officer, you’ll be responsible for supporting the Regional Quality Department while managing risk management initiatives, patient safety programs, audit and continuous quality improvement activities, policy management, accreditation readiness, and regulatory compliance. Your expertise directly impacts healthcare delivery quality and patient outcomes across Al Ain Hospital.

 Key Responsibilities

Risk Management & Patient Safety Leadership

  • Develop and implement integrated risk management frameworks aligned with SEHA mission and healthcare quality goals
  • Support development of plans measuring and monitoring healthcare outcomes in incident reporting, sentinel events, and safety management
  • Coordinate system-level taskforces addressing risk management initiatives and patient safety priorities
  • Track and analyze risk data identifying patterns, system errors, and process deficiencies
  • Facilitate action plans addressing identified risk management deficiencies across healthcare services

Quality Improvement & Audit Management

  • Participate in and facilitate implementation of SEHA-wide performance improvement frameworks
  • Provide education and training on quality improvement methodologies for healthcare stakeholders
  • Oversee quality audits and internal assessments ensuring regulatory compliance and accreditation readiness
  • Conduct internal audits required by regulators including ISO, ADPHC, and JDC standards
  • Develop and implement improvement initiatives based on audit findings and quality assessment results

Policy Management & Healthcare Compliance

  • Support development, review, and approval of healthcare policies and procedures meeting regulatory requirements
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare laws and accreditation standards
  • Facilitate DOH Quality Audit (Ranking) compliance framework supporting healthcare service improvement
  • Participate in and support all activities related to external accreditation and certification surveys
  • Maintain documentation ensuring continuous readiness for external healthcare audits and accreditation reviews

Patient Safety Culture & Continuous Improvement

  • Support implementation of SEHA-wide safety culture framework across healthcare services
  • Facilitate patient safety initiatives and communicate framework activities with healthcare stakeholders
  • Conduct safety culture assessments and surveys identifying improvement opportunities
  • Lead implementation of action plans addressing patient safety deficiencies and quality gaps
  • Coordinate system-level quality improvement projects supporting regional healthcare excellence

Statistical Analysis & Regulatory Reporting

  • Perform statistical analysis on healthcare quality and patient safety data
  • Develop statistical reports monitoring compliance with healthcare quality programs
  • Track healthcare performance indicators and quality metrics
  • Escalate quality concerns to healthcare leadership and risk management teams
  • Compile risk and quality key performance indicators data for regular monitoring and reporting

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Science, Healthcare Administration, Quality Management, or related field
  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Health & Safety, Risk Management, or equivalent (Highly Preferred)

Professional Qualifications & Certifications

  • ISO 22000 or ISO 14001 Healthcare Quality Certifications
  • Risk Management Professional (RMP) certification
  • Healthcare Quality Auditor certification
  • Patient Safety and Quality Management training
  • Knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards (ACHC, ADPHC, JDC)

Essential Skills & Competencies

  • Expert knowledge of healthcare quality assurance and patient safety management
  • Strong analytical and statistical skills for data interpretation and quality assessment
  • Proficiency in policy development and regulatory compliance management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
