Position Overview
This Supply Chain Quality Manager role at Airbus Defence and Space in Manching develops, implements, and monitors quality management strategies across the supply chain, conducts EN 9100 supplier audits and qualifications, defines and reports supply chain KPIs, leads root cause analyses for quality problems, manages CAPA processes with suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensures compliance with legal regulations and customer requirements, and collaborates closely with purchasing, development, production, and logistics to integrate quality throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Strategy Development & Supply Chain Monitoring
- Develop, implement, and monitor quality management strategies and processes throughout the Airbus supply chain
- Define, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) for supply chain quality performance
- Proactively manage quality risks across the supply chain and escalate emerging concerns to relevant stakeholders
Supplier Audits, Qualification & Performance
- Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and qualifications to ensure compliance with Airbus quality standards and EN 9100
- Continuously improve supplier quality through implementation of best practices and lean principles
- Train and raise awareness among suppliers and internal staff regarding quality standards and processes
Non-Conformance, CAPA & Root Cause Analysis
- Analyze quality deviations and non-conformities and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Lead and support root cause analyses for quality problems using 8D, FMEA, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys methodologies
- Ensure all non-conformances are tracked, documented, and closed effectively
Compliance, Regulation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Ensure compliance with legal regulations, customer requirements, and internal guidelines regarding quality
- Collaborate closely with purchasing, development, production, and logistics to integrate quality throughout the entire product lifecycle
- Present and communicate complex quality issues clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Completed degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a comparable discipline
Experience Requirements
- Several years of professional experience in quality management, ideally in supply chain or at a manufacturing company in the aerospace industry or a similar high-tech sector
- Sound knowledge of quality management standards including EN 9100 and ISO 9001 and their practical application
- Experience in conducting supplier audits according to EN 9100 or equivalent aerospace quality standards
Technical Skills & Tools
- Experience with quality tools and methods including 8D report, FMEA, Ishikawa, and 5 Whys
- Strong understanding of supply chain processes and their quality aspects within aerospace or high-tech manufacturing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for complex supply chain quality challenges
Language & Communication
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in both German and English — written and spoken — are essential
- Ability to present and communicate complex quality issues clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical audiences
- Willingness to travel for supplier visits and audits within and outside Germany
