Position Overview
The Supply Chain Planner at Deinzer + Weyland GmbH in Worms is a dynamic, analytically driven planning and disposition role at the heart of the company’s supply chain operations. You will analyze sales data, trends, and seasonal patterns to develop reliable demand forecasts; manage inventory levels to balance product availability, warehouse capacity, and capital commitment; place and monitor orders using Slim4; identify deviations early and initiate corrective measures independently; coordinate with suppliers on delays and improvement opportunities; manage larger or non-standard deliveries with warehouse locations; and collaborate closely with Sales, Category Management, and suppliers to ensure smooth information flow — all while actively contributing process improvement ideas to make supply chain operations smarter and more efficient.
Why This Role Matters: As Supply Chain Planner at Deinzer + Weyland Worms, you sit at the strategic intersection of demand, inventory, suppliers, and warehouse operations — your forecasts determine whether the right products are available at the right time, your order decisions directly affect customer satisfaction and working capital efficiency, and your supplier coordination keeps the supply chain moving without costly disruptions. This is a role where analytical precision and proactive communication genuinely shape company performance every single day.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Forecasting & Sales Data Analysis
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and seasonal demand patterns systematically — developing reliable, data-driven forecasts that accurately reflect expected future demand for Deinzer + Weyland’s Gebäudetechnik product portfolio
- Identify and interpret demand signals early — distinguishing genuine trend shifts from seasonal variation and one-off events to ensure forecasts remain accurate and actionable for inventory and order planning decisions
- Work closely with Sales and Category Management teams to incorporate commercial intelligence, promotional plans, and market insights into your forecasting process — delivering forecasts that reflect the full business picture, not just historical data
Inventory Management & Stock Optimization
- Manage inventory levels across all relevant product categories — finding the optimal balance between product availability, warehouse storage capacity, and capital commitment that best serves Deinzer + Weyland’s customers and business performance targets
- Monitor stock positions continuously — identifying overstock, slow-moving inventory, and potential stockout risks proactively, and initiating appropriate corrective measures independently before problems affect customer service levels
- Coordinate larger or non-standard deliveries with Deinzer + Weyland’s warehouse locations — keeping warehouse capacity constraints in view at all times and adjusting order plans to prevent bottlenecks and ensure smooth goods receipt operations
Order Placement & Slim4 Planning Tool Management
- Place and monitor all purchase orders using Slim4 — Deinzer + Weyland’s primary supply chain planning tool — ensuring all order parameters, replenishment settings, and planning rules are configured accurately and kept up to date
- Recognize order deviations and supply chain anomalies early — analyzing their root causes and initiating appropriate, proportionate corrective measures independently to minimize impact on product availability and warehouse operations
- Maintain accurate, structured planning data in Slim4 and Infor M3 (ERP) — ensuring all planning parameters, supplier lead times, and inventory targets reflect current business reality and are regularly reviewed and optimized
Supplier Coordination & Performance Management
- Actively manage relationships with suppliers — proactively communicating delays, capacity issues, and quality concerns, and constructively discussing improvement potential to continuously raise supply chain reliability and performance
- Negotiate delivery adjustments, expediting requests, and lead time improvements with suppliers when required — advocating clearly and professionally for Deinzer + Weyland’s supply chain needs while maintaining productive long-term supplier partnerships
- Monitor supplier delivery performance against agreed timelines — flagging repeat deviations, documenting performance trends, and contributing supplier performance data to category and procurement review discussions
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Work closely with Sales, Category Management, and suppliers to ensure smooth, accurate information flow across the supply chain — preventing communication gaps that lead to stockouts, overstock, or missed customer commitments
- Proactively identify process optimization opportunities — bringing forward your own improvement ideas and working collaboratively with colleagues to implement smarter, more efficient supply chain processes at Deinzer + Weyland
- Switch effectively between operational execution tasks and tactical planning challenges — demonstrating the flexibility, analytical capability, and professional judgment needed to perform consistently across both dimensions of the role
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Completed kaufmännische Ausbildung (commercial vocational training) in a supply chain, logistics, or trade-related discipline — or a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Supply Chain Planning, Disposition, Logistics, or Demand Planning — with direct responsibility for inventory management, order placement, and supplier coordination in a wholesale, distribution, or manufacturing environment
