Position Overview
This Laboratory Technologist role at M42 IHS in Abu Dhabi performs laboratory activities including sample reception, logging, tracking, and management; organic and inorganic chemistry testing and analysis; LIMS data recording and management; instrument operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting; ISO/IEC 17025 compliance and quality support; reagent and consumable preparation and inventory monitoring; and cross-team collaboration to ensure efficient laboratory operations and timely delivery of results — all in accordance with approved SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Sample Management & Chain of Custody
- Receive, log, track, store, and manage laboratory samples while maintaining chain of custody and full traceability at all times
- Perform sample preparation, extraction, and testing in accordance with approved SOPs and quality standards
- Ensure all sample management activities comply with accreditation requirements and laboratory regulatory standards
Organic & Inorganic Chemistry Analysis
- Perform organic and inorganic chemical analyses as assigned within the designated laboratory area
- Apply established analytical techniques and methodologies for accurate and timely sample testing results
- Prepare reagents, standards, controls, and laboratory consumables and monitor inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations
LIMS Data Management & Laboratory Documentation
- Accurately record, review, and manage laboratory data and documentation using LIMS and other laboratory systems
- Maintain laboratory records in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and internal quality management requirements
- Support documentation for quality assurance programmes, audits, proficiency testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
Instrument Operation, Calibration & Maintenance
- Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment in accordance with established procedures
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and calibrated to support accurate, reliable analytical results
Quality, Safety & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Support compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, quality assurance programmes, audits, proficiency testing, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Adhere to laboratory health, safety, environmental, and waste management requirements at all times
- Collaborate with laboratory teams to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of results
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field — Master’s degree preferred
Experience Requirements
- 1–3 years of laboratory experience in chemical analysis, sample preparation, and testing
- Familiarity with LIMS and ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory environments
- Knowledge of organic and inorganic chemistry, laboratory quality systems, and analytical techniques
Technical Skills
- Skilled in laboratory documentation, equipment operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work accurately with high sample volumes
