Position Overview
We’re hiring one person to own the numbers (daily books, VAT and the till), cover the shop floor when it’s busy, and get online orders packed and out the door. This role combines accounting, cashiering, and e-commerce order fulfilment in one multi-functional position.
Why This Role Matters: As Accountant cum Cashier, you maintain day-to-day accounts, including sales, purchases, expenses, and bank reconciliation, prepare and file quarterly UAE VAT returns, keeping records FTA-compliant, operate the POS and run end-of-day cash and card reconciliation and deposits, serve customers and cover the floor during peak hours, pick, check, and pack online orders to the brand’s presentation standard, prepare invoices, delivery notes, and shipping labels, book couriers and track deliveries through to the customer, and produce simple monthly reports for the owner covering sales, margin, and expenses.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts
- Maintain day-to-day accounts: sales, purchases, expenses, petty cash, bank reconciliation
- Prepare and file quarterly UAE VAT returns, keeping records FTA-compliant
- Process supplier invoices and payments, track receivables
Cashier & Store
- Operate the POS and run end-of-day cash and card reconciliation and deposits
- Serve customers and cover the floor during peak hours
- Support inventory valuation and monthly stock counts
Online Orders
- Pick, check, and pack online orders to the brand’s presentation standard
- Prepare invoices, delivery notes, and shipping labels; book couriers and track deliveries
- Handle returns and exchanges, updating stock in the system
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or commerce
Experience Requirements
- 2+ years of accounting experience in the UAE; retail or e-commerce preferred
- Hands-on with UAE VAT filing and FTA requirements
Essential Skills
- Comfortable handling cash, serving customers, and doing hands-on order packing
- Organised and detail-focused: the right item, the right size, the right address, every time
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Currently in the UAE, available to start within 2-4 weeks
- Comfortable with a 6-day retail week including weekends
Preferred Qualifications
- Odoo experience (Accounting/POS/Inventory) is a strong plus; training provided if not
