Position Overview
The Chemical Application Engineer plans, executes, and supervises chemical cleaning, flushing, passivation, pre-commissioning, and mechanical cleaning projects across industrial and commercial systems. You will review project specifications, P&IDs, method statements, and flushing procedures; carry out site surveys and check system readiness before mobilization; supervise flushing of chilled water, condenser water, district cooling, closed-loop, HVAC, and industrial process piping systems; monitor flow rate, pressure, velocity, pH, conductivity, turbidity, and chemical concentrations; develop flushing and cleaning methodologies; choose suitable chemicals, filtration, and dosing; troubleshoot contamination, corrosion, scaling, and debris; prepare technical reports and flushing certificates; operate and maintain site equipment; and lead HSE practices including JSAs, risk assessments, toolbox talks, and permit-to-work compliance — all while coordinating with clients, consultants, contractors, and commissioning teams to finish projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
Project Execution — Cleaning, Flushing & Passivation
- Plan and execute chemical cleaning, flushing, passivation, and mechanical cleaning projects in line with approved procedures and customer specifications
- Review project specifications, P&IDs, method statements, and flushing procedures before work begins
- Conduct site surveys and assess system readiness before mobilization to avoid delays and surprises on site
- Monitor critical parameters — flow rate, pressure, velocity, pH, conductivity, turbidity, and chemical concentrations — throughout each operation
Systems You Will Work On
- Supervise flushing of chilled water systems, condenser water systems, district cooling networks, closed-loop systems, HVAC systems, and industrial process piping
- Support cleaning and pre-commissioning of facilities including data centers, power generation plants, and industrial process systems
Technical Support & Methodology
- Develop flushing methodologies and chemical cleaning procedures tailored to each system and client requirement
- Select suitable chemicals, equipment, filtration systems, and dosing requirements
- Troubleshoot contamination, corrosion, scaling, and debris issues and recommend practical fixes
- Prepare technical reports, flushing certificates, and completion documentation, and give clear technical recommendations to clients and project teams
Equipment Management
- Operate and maintain flushing pumps, temporary filtration units, dosing systems, chemical circulation skids, water treatment equipment, and monitoring instruments
- Make sure site equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, and manage chemical inventory and consumables for each project
Health, Safety & Environment
- Ensure compliance with company and client HSE standards at every stage of the job
- Prepare Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and risk assessments before execution and enforce proper PPE use and permit-to-work systems
- Apply safe chemical handling, storage, and disposal practices, and lead toolbox talks and safety briefings for site personnel
Customer Coordination & Quality Assurance
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, commissioning teams, and operations personnel, attend project meetings, and give regular technical updates
- Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to complete work within budget and timeline
- Verify flushing and cleaning acceptance criteria are met, keep accurate records of activities, test results, and inspections, and support commissioning and handover
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline
- 3–7 years of experience in chemical cleaning, pre-commissioning, flushing operations, water treatment applications, or industrial services
- Experience in HVAC, district cooling, data centers, power plants, or industrial facilities is preferred
Technical Skills
- Knowledge of chemical cleaning and passivation chemistry, water treatment principles, and corrosion control
- Ability to read P&IDs, isometric drawings, and engineering documentation
- Familiarity with commissioning and pre-commissioning activities and experience operating flushing and filtration equipment
- Working knowledge of industry standards and HSE requirements, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical reporting
