✔ Load and run PES and DST design files accurately.

✔ Keep stitching consistent, clean and on deadline.

Career Opportunity

✔ Work in a personalised products and custom merchandise environment.

✔ Build technical skills across set-up, troubleshooting and quality control.

✔ Grow into digitising, which is a well-paid specialist skill.

✔ Work with a wider team on real customer orders and deadlines.

Computerised Embroidery Machine Operator Position Overview

Your day is about turning a design file into a flawless finished product. You hoop and stabilise the item, choose the right backing, set thread colours, needles and tension, then run the design and keep an eye on it. When a thread breaks or the fabric puckers, you diagnose and fix it fast. Finished pieces are trimmed, inspected and packed for dispatch, while you juggle several customer orders at once.

  • Trim threads, inspect finished items and prepare orders for dispatch.
  • Clean and maintain the machine and meet daily production targets.

Digitising

  • Convert artwork into machine-ready embroidery files.
  • Use Wilcom, Brother PE-Design or similar software.
  • Edit files to improve density, direction, underlay and pull compensation.
  • Resize designs for different products and fix file issues.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven hands-on experience with commercial computerised embroidery machines.
  • Multi-needle experience, ideally Brother, Tajima, Barudan or Ricoma.
  • Able to set up, run and troubleshoot machines independently.
  • Familiar with PES and DST files.
  • Good knowledge of thread tension, needles, stabilisers, hooping and fabric handling.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistent quality.
  • Organised, able to manage multiple orders, and a good team player.
  • Preferred: Brother 6- or 10-needle experience, Wilcom skills and custom merchandise background.
