Position Overview
This Engineer I role involves responding to and addressing guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance on kitchen and machine room tools and equipment, and visually inspecting tools, equipment, and machines. You will identify and operate shut-off valves, maintain a maintenance inventory, test and diagnose faults, perform basic repairs across plumbing, electrical, and general equipment, and complete minor drywall, painting, and general building maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Guest Maintenance & Preventive Care
- Respond to and address guest repair requests, communicating directly to resolve maintenance issues
- Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen and machine room tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
- Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines, and transport equipment as needed
Technical Repairs & Building Systems
- Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves and utility disconnect switches for buildings
- Demonstrate basic knowledge or aptitude across air conditioning, electricity, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems, carpentry, kitchen equipment, and vehicles
- Test, diagnose, and perform basic repairs on plumbing, electrical components, and guest room items
- Perform surface preparation and painting, minor drywall and woodwork repairs, and replace light bulbs and A/C filters
Inventory, Safety & Documentation
- Maintain a maintenance inventory and request parts and supplies as needed
- Communicate daily activities and issues to other shift employees using appropriate systems
- Use Lockout/Tagout procedures before performing maintenance work
- Comply with all company safety policies and procedures, reporting hazards, accidents, or injuries
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma, GED equivalent, or vocational/technical training preferred
Experience Requirements
- Experience in general maintenance, exterior and interior surface preparation, and painting
- Hotel engineering/maintenance experience is valued
- No supervisory experience required
Required Licence or Certification
- Valid driver’s licence
