Position Overview
This Food Quality Controller role involves ensuring effective implementation, monitoring, and continual improvement of Food Safety and QHSE standards across catering operations. You will maintain compliance with regulatory and client requirements, conduct routine inspections, oversee hygiene practices and safe work procedures, deliver comprehensive staff training, support incident prevention, and foster strong safety and food safety culture while safeguarding product integrity and operational efficiency.

Roles & Responsibilities
QHSE Standards Implementation & Monitoring
- Implement and maintain QHSE standards across catering operations through routine inspections
- Monitor hygiene practices, food handling procedures, pest control activities, temperature control measures
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and client requirements across all catering operations
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols including proper PPE usage and safe operating procedures
- Oversee chemical handling, equipment safety, fire safety measures, and emergency preparedness
Documentation & Compliance Management
- Maintain and regularly update QHSE documentation including risk assessments and SOPs
- Manage manuals, MSDS, calibration certificates, audit reports, checklists, and statutory records
- Conduct internal audits and support external audits documenting non-conformities
- Lead or assist in incident/near-miss investigations performing root-cause analysis
- Ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
Inspections & Reporting
- Perform daily/weekly/monthly QHSE and Food Safety inspections
- Develop detailed inspection reports for management and client submission
- Ensure follow-up on identified actions and corrective measures
- Conduct site hazard assessments ensuring safe, hazard-free working environment
- Verify tools, equipment, and PPE are adequate, calibrated, and safe for use
Training & Competency Development
- Deliver QHSE and Food Safety training including toolbox talks and on-the-job training
- Provide HACCP awareness training, hygiene practices, and competency assessments
- Maintain proper training records for all staff
- Promote safe working practices across all catering operations
- Enforce safety guidelines and respond promptly to employees’ QHSE concerns
HACCP & Food Safety Management
- Monitor compliance with HACCP requirements including CCP/OPRP verification
- Oversee food safety logs, traceability systems, allergen control, waste management
- Implement environmental sustainability practices
- Promote strong food safety and safety culture on site
- Maintain situational awareness of active issues and emerging risks
Budget Planning & Investigation Support
- Coordinate with Site Manager and QHSE Team in preparing annual departmental budgets
- Plan for QHSE requirements including training, equipment, calibration, PPE, pest control
- Participate in accident/incident investigations gathering evidence and interviewing staff
- Prepare investigation reports and support investigation team as required
- Support Assistant QHSE Manager and perform additional QHSE-related tasks
Qualifications & Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
- OR other related education in food science or quality management
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years experience in same field (food quality control/QHSE)
- Experience with HACCP implementation and food safety management
- QHSE standards implementation and compliance experience
- Industrial or large-scale catering operations experience preferred
