We are looking for a qualified Safety Officer for food industry operations in Dubai Investment Park (DIP) to implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures, conduct inspections and risk assessments, investigate incidents, promote health and safety awareness, maintain HSE documentation, and act as Fire Marshal during emergency situations. This is a one-year contract role with possibility of extension.

Position Overview
The Safety Officer will serve as the primary HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) resource for food manufacturing operations at Dubai Investment Park. This critical role ensures compliance with UAE health and safety regulations, implements proactive safety programs, conducts risk assessments, and fosters a culture of safety awareness across all departments.
Working in the fast-paced food industry environment, you will be responsible for maintaining NEBOSH standards, conducting regular inspections, investigating incidents, and ensuring all employees receive proper safety training and understand their safety responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
As Safety Officer in Dubai Investment Park, your responsibilities include:
HSE Policy Implementation & Monitoring
- Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures on site ensuring compliance
- Ensure all safety protocols align with UAE regulations and food industry standards
- Review and update HSE procedures reflecting best practices and regulatory changes
- Monitor compliance with company safety policies across all departments
Inspections, Risk Assessments & Audits
- Conduct regular inspections of food production areas, warehouses, and facilities
- Perform comprehensive risk assessments identifying workplace hazards
- Execute internal HSE audits evaluating compliance with safety standards
- Identify unsafe conditions, practices, or equipment requiring corrective action
- Document inspection findings and track remediation to closure
Incident Investigation & Corrective Actions
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, near-misses, and safety violations
- Identify root causes using systematic investigation methodologies
- Ensure corrective actions are completed promptly and effectively
- Maintain incident records and analyze trends for preventive measures
- Report serious incidents to management and regulatory authorities as required
Health & Safety Awareness Promotion
- Promote health and safety awareness across departments through training and communication
- Conduct safety inductions for new employees, contractors, and visitors
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings on specific hazards
- Organize safety campaigns, drills, and awareness programs
- Foster positive safety culture encouraging employee participation
HSE Documentation & KPI Tracking
- Maintain HSE documentation including risk assessments, inspection reports, and incident records
- Prepare HSE reports for management reviewing safety performance
- Track and report KPIs including incident rates, lost time injuries, and audit scores
- Ensure environmental compliance and training records are maintained
- Maintain up-to-date safety permits and regulatory documentation
Fire Marshal Responsibilities
- Act as Fire Marshal during emergency situations coordinating evacuation procedures
- Conduct fire drills and emergency response exercises
- Inspect and maintain fire safety equipment including extinguishers, alarms, and sprinklers
- Ensure emergency exits, evacuation routes, and assembly points are clearly marked
- Liaise with Civil Defence and emergency services as needed
Environmental Compliance
- Ensure environmental compliance with UAE regulations
- Monitor waste management practices and recycling programs
- Oversee proper disposal of hazardous materials
- Track environmental performance indicators
Mandatory Requirements
Candidates MUST possess the following qualifications:
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or Nutrition Science
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or Food Microbiology
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Food Chemistry
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology
- OR other related degree in science or food-related field
Professional Certification
- NEBOSH certification — REQUIRED (National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health)
- NEBOSH IGC (International General Certificate) or equivalent
Licensing & Language
- Valid UAE driving license — REQUIRED
- Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent report writing abilities for HSE documentation
Professional Experience
- 2–3 years of experience in similar HSE role
- Proven track record implementing safety programs
- Experience conducting inspections, audits, and incident investigations
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience in the food industry or food manufacturing environment
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) certification
- ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) certification or training
- OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety) certification
- Own vehicle for site visits and inspections

Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Can start immediately or with short notice period
- Valid driver’s license (UAE) — MANDATORY
- Willingness to work 6 days per week, 9 hours per day
- Based in Dubai or able to relocate to Dubai Investment Park area
