Position Overview
This Trainee – Tester role samples and tests raw materials and products while on shift, and performs all gauging duties on cements during day shift. As Shift Tester, you will collect raw mill, kiln, and cement mill products, perform control tests, and report results to millers, burners, and the shift chemist. As Gauger, you will perform British and American Standard tests on mill products, maintain test records, and notify the Chief Chemist of any abnormal results, following IMS procedures throughout.

Key Responsibilities
Shift Tester Duties
- Collect raw mill, kiln, and cement mill products on a routine basis
- Perform control tests on samples and report results to millers, burners, and shift chemist
- Prepare a shift report of all tests conducted
- Monitor automatic Quality Control Systems and make manual adjustments to maintain raw mill quality targets
Gauger Duties
- Perform all British and American Standard tests on mill products and dispatch samples
- Maintain a record of all test results
- Notify the Chief Chemist of any abnormal results
Process & Quality Adherence
- Follow and execute procedures with respect to IMS within the department
- Provide material quality information to the shift supervisor
- Follow a set routine of duties while staying alert to any deviation from quality targets

Educational Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (Chemistry)
Experience Requirements
- 0-5 years of experience; fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
