Position Overview
This Laboratory Supervisor role involves managing laboratory quality function at Almarai’s Premier Foods plant in Riyadh. You will provide timely and accurate analytical information in cost-effective manner, ensure proper sample handling and storage, perform standardization of chemical reagents, ensure laboratory activities comply with company guidelines and safety requirements, and assist Laboratory Manager in training new staff to maintain quality standards.

Key Activities & Responsibilities
Sample Management & Laboratory Operations
- Ensure all samples are properly received, registered, and stored to avoid any errors
- Maintain sample integrity and traceability throughout testing process
- Coordinate sample flow and prioritization for efficient laboratory operations
- Implement proper storage protocols for different sample types
Reagent Standardization & Quality Control
- Perform standardization of various reagents as per SOP and guidelines to ensure consistent results
- Maintain reagent inventory and ensure proper storage conditions
- Conduct quality checks on reagents and testing materials
- Document standardization procedures and maintain calibration records
Compliance & Safety Management
- Ensure laboratory activities are carried out in accordance with company guidelines
- Maintain compliance with safety and quality requirements
- Implement and monitor laboratory safety protocols
- Ensure adherence to good laboratory practices (GLP)
Training & Staff Development
- Assist Laboratory Manager in training new staff to ensure continuation of quality standards
- Provide ongoing coaching and supervision to laboratory technicians
- Conduct competency assessments and skills development programs
- Maintain training records and ensure staff qualifications are current
Analytical Chemistry Operations
- Oversee determination of ADF, NDF, CP, EE, DM, pH and other analytical parameters
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of analytical results
- Monitor analytical method performance and troubleshoot issues
- Implement quality management systems in laboratory operations
Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology
- OR Bachelor’s degree in Food Science
- OR related field in analytical sciences
Experience Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratory
- Sound knowledge in determination of ADF, NDF, CP, EE, DM, pH parameters
- Experience in quality management systems
- Sound knowledge in standardization of chemical reagents
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Proficiency in analytical chemistry techniques and instrumentation
- Understanding of laboratory quality control and quality assurance
- Knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and procedures
- Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
- Understanding of food industry analytical requirements
