Position Overview
This Laboratory Supervisor role involves performing accurate and timely analysis of agricultural and environmental samples. You will analyze feeds, forages, soil, water, animal/plant tissues, and fertilizers following standard protocols and guidelines, supervise laboratory operations, operate advanced analytical instruments including ICP, Leco, Soxtec, and Ankom, calibrate laboratory instruments, standardize chemical reagents, and provide analytical leadership in Almarai’s Hail agricultural facility.

Key Responsibilities
Agricultural & Environmental Sample Analysis
- Perform accurate and timely analysis of feeds and forages for livestock nutrition
- Conduct comprehensive soil analysis for agricultural planning and optimization
- Analyze water samples for quality and environmental monitoring
- Test animal and plant tissues for nutritional content and health assessment
- Evaluate fertilizers for composition and effectiveness
Advanced Analytical Chemistry Operations
- Determine ADF (Acid Detergent Fiber), NDF (Neutral Detergent Fiber), CP (Crude Protein)
- Analyze EE (Ether Extract), DM (Dry Matter), pH and other critical parameters
- Perform precise titration procedures for various analytical determinations
- Conduct specialized analytical procedures following standard protocols
Instrumentation & Equipment Management
- Operate advanced instruments including ICP (Inductively Coupled Plasma)
- Utilize Leco analyzers for carbon, nitrogen, and sulfur determination
- Operate Soxtec systems for fat/oil extraction and analysis
- Use Ankom equipment for fiber analysis and digestibility studies
- Calibrate various laboratory instruments ensuring accuracy and precision
Reagent Standardization & Quality Control
- Perform standardization of chemical reagents for analytical procedures
- Maintain reagent inventory and ensure proper storage conditions
- Conduct quality control checks on reagents and analytical solutions
- Document standardization procedures and maintain calibration records
Laboratory Supervision & Leadership
- Supervise laboratory technicians and analytical staff
- Provide training and guidance on analytical procedures and safety protocols
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and guidelines
- Coordinate laboratory activities and manage workflow efficiently
- Exercise analytical ability and decision-making capability in laboratory operations
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of analytical results and procedures
- Prepare analytical reports for management and agricultural teams
- Utilize computer systems for data management and reporting
- Ensure proper documentation for regulatory compliance
Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
- Strong foundation in analytical chemistry principles
- Understanding of agricultural and environmental chemistry
Experience Requirements
- 5 years of experience in Analytical Chemistry Laboratory
- Sound knowledge in determination of ADF, NDF, CP, EE, DM, pH parameters
- Good experience in titration techniques
- Experience with agricultural or environmental sample analysis preferred
Technical Skills & Instrumentation
- Deep knowledge in operating instruments such as ICP, Leco, Soxtec, Ankom
- Ability to calibrate various laboratory instruments
- Sound knowledge in standardization of chemical reagents
- Understanding of analytical method validation and troubleshooting
