SAEKI is building the operating system for autonomous factories — infrastructure that lets Europe manufacture mission-critical components at software speed. We’re looking for a Logistics Specialist to own Import & Export end to end, running day-to-day customs and export execution while building the structure underneath: procedures, export control, provider relationships, and ERP data — based on-site at Factory ONE in the greater Munich area.
About the Role — Own Logistics End to End
First Owner: First person at SAEKI to own import and export from execution to strategy
Scope: National and international shipments, customs documentation, tariff classification, proofs of origin
Cross-Border Reach: Transport between Swiss and German sites, and to customers and suppliers across Europe and beyond
Growth Path: Build the function well, and you lead it as the team grows
Why This Role Matters
Mission-Critical: Support Europe’s industrial sovereignty by keeping cross-border manufacturing logistics fast and compliant
Real Ownership: Direct line to management, production, and engineering — decisions stand from day one
Function Building: Shape customs procedures, export control processes, provider selection, and ERP setup from scratch
Career Trajectory: Whoever builds this function has the first claim on leading the team it becomes
Position Overview
As Logistics Specialist – Import & Export at SAEKI, you handle national and international shipments end to end, including customs documentation, tariff classification, and proofs of origin. You own cross-border transport between Swiss and German sites and to customers and suppliers across Europe. You build how the company assesses and documents dual-use and export-controlled matters, select and manage forwarders and logistics providers, and turn recurring activities into documented processes that hold up at scale.
Why This Role Matters: As Logistics Specialist at SAEKI, you own a full function rather than a task list, build customs and export control processes from the ground up for defense, aerospace, and space manufacturing, work at the interface of procurement, production, and engineering, and have a realistic path to leading the logistics team as it scales.
Key Responsibilities
Import & Export Execution
- Handle national and international shipments end to end, including shipping and customs documentation
- Manage tariff classification and proofs of origin for cross-border movements
- Own transport between Swiss and German sites, and to customers and suppliers across Europe and beyond
Export Control & Compliance
- Build how SAEKI assesses and documents dual-use and export-controlled matters
- Keep customs and export control practices precise and audit-ready in a defense and aerospace context
- Select forwarders and logistics service providers and negotiate terms
Process & Systems Building
- Turn recurring logistics activities into documented processes others can run
- Keep logistics data in the ERP clean, current, and usable
- Help shape how the ERP system is set up for logistics as the function scales
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with procurement, production, and engineering teams
- Act as the point where delivery dates become firm commitments
- Recognise when the work outgrows one person and help build the next stage — processes, tools, team
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Completed commercial apprenticeship or degree in logistics, supply chain management, international trade, or a comparable field
Experience Requirements
- 2–5 years in import, export, or international logistics
- Solid hands-on practice in customs and export handling
Essential Skills
- Comfortable working without an existing department, predecessor, or finished playbook
- Confident with ERP systems and inclined to build processes into the system, not spreadsheets
- Reliable communicator who flags slipping commitments early
- Fluent German and good English
How to Apply
Resume: Show what you’ve actually owned — not just where you’ve been
Cover Letter: Why this mission? Why now? What’s the most complicated customs or export case you’ve personally resolved?
