Position Overview
This Logistics Specialist – Import & Export role covers full shipment lifecycle management, from coordinating with international suppliers on shipment readiness and packing, to following up imports from origin through UAE port arrival and final delivery. On the export side, you’ll coordinate orders with sales, warehouse, and customers, prepare export documentation, arrange freight bookings, and ensure shipments comply with destination country requirements — all while maintaining accurate records and managing freight costs.

Key Responsibilities
Import Shipment Management
- Coordinate with international suppliers on shipment readiness and required documents
- Follow up import shipments from origin to UAE port or final delivery
- Track ETA, vessel details, container status, and demurrage risks
- Coordinate warehouse receiving, inspection, and GRN updates
Export Shipment Management
- Coordinate export orders with sales, warehouse, production, and customers
- Prepare and verify export documentation and arrange freight bookings
- Follow up container loading, packing list, and dispatch schedules
- Ensure export compliance with destination country requirements
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and verify Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Bill of Lading/Air Waybill, and Certificate of Origin
- Manage HS Code details, MSDS, SASO, MOFA, and customs declaration documents
- Maintain organized shipment records and ensure UAE and international trade compliance
Freight, Cost & Vendor Coordination
- Request and compare freight quotations from forwarders
- Negotiate shipping, clearance, and delivery costs when needed
- Review freight, customs, and port charges before finance approval
- Maintain a database of approved logistics vendors and forwarders
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in import/export logistics
- Experience in UAE customs clearance and port procedures is preferred
Essential Skills
- Good knowledge of shipping documentation and international trade procedures
- Knowledge of Incoterms, HS codes, freight forwarding, and customs requirements
- Experience with ERP or logistics tracking systems is an advantage
- Good communication skills in English; Arabic is an advantage
