This Mid-Level Data Scientist at NexAura develops and evaluates price elasticity models to understand how pricing changes affect customer demand, builds demand forecasting models using historical sales, pricing, promotional, and operational data, identifies key demand drivers, seasonal patterns, trends, and external factors, prepares and validates datasets for modelling, compares statistical and machine-learning approaches for the most appropriate solution, tests model accuracy and business relevance, translates model outputs into clear commercial recommendations, works with stakeholders to define modelling requirements and success criteria, and documents methodologies, limitations, and recommendations throughout the engagement.

Key Responsibilities
Price Elasticity Modelling & Demand Forecasting
- Develop and evaluate price elasticity models to understand how pricing changes affect customer demand across products, categories, and markets
- Build demand forecasting models using historical sales, pricing, promotional, and operational data from commercial and transactional datasets
- Identify key demand drivers, seasonal patterns, trends, and external factors that influence business performance
- Compare different statistical and machine-learning approaches to identify the most appropriate and robust modelling solution for each use case
Data Preparation, Model Validation & Analytics
- Prepare, clean, and validate structured commercial, transactional, and operational datasets for modelling and analysis
- Apply regression analysis, time-series forecasting, feature engineering, and model validation methods to ensure accuracy and business relevance
- Test model accuracy, stability, and business relevance using suitable cross-validation and holdout testing methods
- Use SQL to extract, transform, and analyse data from multiple sources — ensuring data integrity throughout the analytical workflow
Stakeholder Communication, Documentation & Deployment
- Translate model outputs into clear, actionable commercial recommendations for pricing, planning, and business decision-making stakeholders

- Strong experience using Python or R for data analysis, statistical modelling, and machine learning

- Experience working with structured commercial, transactional, or operational datasets
