The role operates associated pump and pipe systems and plays a frontline part in keeping fuel supply chains running safely across the UAE.
About the Role
The Depot Operator carries out quality checks on tanks and pumps, monitors storage tank dips and fuel levels, takes samples from filters, tanks and pipelines, and receives products by vessel or road tanker for unloading into storage tanks. The role also covers vessel loading operations, equipment maintenance, and accurate documentation of all depot activities, all performed in line with ADNOC Distribution’s procedures and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities
Fuelling Operations
- Carry out quality checks on tanks and pumps and complete all necessary depot records
- Check system fuel levels in each tank, carrying out physical dip, specific gravity and temperature checks
- Monitor storage tank dips, compare results against the tank gauging system, and complete floating suction and conductivity checks
- Take samples from filters, tanks, pipelines and other depot equipment per company procedures
- Receive products by vessel or road tanker and unload into storage tanks per company procedures
- Perform vessel loading operations, ensuring all relevant procedures are followed
- Clean and maintain sampling equipment, including buckets, bottles and close-sampling systems
- Monitor filter, pressure and temperature gauges and report any defects immediately
- Prepare and maintain documentation of all activities and enter data into required records/systems
HSE & Job-Specific Accountabilities
- Comply with HSE policies, procedures, controls and applicable legislation in line with ADNOC Code of Practices
- Ensure full compliance with PPE and other safety regulations
- Report all incidents and near misses immediately to the supervisor
- Follow company emergency procedures and participate in emergency drills, safety talks and HSE campaigns
Firefighting Operations
- Carry out regular and surprise rounds of critical operational areas to ensure firefighting equipment is in working condition
- Inspect, clean and test firefighting apparatus, hoses, hydrants, ladders and hand extinguishers
- Respond to fire or accident alarms, make hose connections to fixed hydrants, and use appropriate firefighting tools as required
- Monitor screens and alarm systems in the firefighting control room and communicate emergencies per ADNOC Distribution procedures
Qualifications & Requirements
- Secondary / High School Certificate
- 3 years of experience as a Depot Operator
- Working knowledge of fuel storage, tank gauging and quality-check procedures
- Ability to perform firefighting and emergency response duties safely
- Strong attention to detail for documentation and HSE compliance
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, safety-critical operational environment
