Mission: Ensuring every product meets food safety and quality standards
Quality Control Technician Position Overview
The Quality Control Technician role is where food safety is checked in practice. Products pass through many stages on the way from raw material to packed goods, and each stage has points where quality can be confirmed or lost. Your job is to test, observe, and record, and to make sure that what happens on the line matches what the food safety plan requires. Testing is the core of the work. You’ll carry out inspections and tests on raw materials, on products in process, and on finished goods, using basic laboratory analysis that covers physical, chemical, and sensory checks. Critical control points are monitored closely, and you’ll record each result accurately in line with the HACCP and food safety plans so that a clear trail exists for every batch. When a result falls outside what is acceptable, you’ll flag it as a non-conformance and follow it up with production until a corrective action is in place and has worked. Hygiene is part of the picture too. You’ll verify GMP, hygiene, and sanitation on the shop floor, so that the environment supports the quality of the food being made. Equipment must be reliable for the results to mean anything, so you’ll calibrate and maintain the testing equipment in your care. Audits are a regular part of life in a food plant, and you’ll support internal reviews, customer visits, and regulatory inspections under ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000, making sure the records are complete and easy to follow. The work runs across shifts, and it depends on consistent habits and a steady, careful approach.
As Quality Control Technician, you’ll build practical skills in food testing, HACCP monitoring, and quality documentation, while developing the discipline that food safety demands. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field, and has one to three years of quality control experience in food manufacturing or FMCG. A working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety standards is important, along with strong attention to detail and solid documentation habits. Comfort working in shifts is required, and good English is expected, with Arabic as a useful extra. Candidates based in Kuwait with a transferable residency are preferred. For early-career food scientists and QC staff in Kuwait who want to build a career in food safety within a well-known regional food manufacturer, this role offers a solid, hands-on start.
