Position Overview
This Slitting Operator role requires setting up slitting machines according to job specifications, operating equipment efficiently and safely, and monitoring the slitting process to ensure product quality and consistency. You will inspect finished rolls for defects, measure slit rolls against specified dimensions, maintain accurate production records, perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting, and follow all safety protocols and PPE requirements per Huhtamaki’s safety policy.

Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Set up slitting machines according to job specifications, sales orders, and production schedules
- Operate slitting equipment efficiently and safely
- Monitor the slitting process to ensure product quality and consistency
Quality Control & Documentation
- Inspect finished rolls for defects and ensure they meet customer quality standards
- Measure slit rolls to ensure they match specified widths, lengths, and outer dimensions
- Remove defected material identified through flagging from previous processes
- Maintain accurate production records in the logbook and Oracle system
- Maintain the 5S+S standard on slitting machines and complete cleaning checklists before starting jobs
- Identify recyclable and non-recyclable wastage with proper labeling
Maintenance, Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Perform routine maintenance on slitting machines and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues
- Report major mechanical failures to maintenance personnel
- Follow all safety protocols and use PPE as required per Huhtamaki’s safety policy
- Suggest process improvements to optimize quality, reduce waste, and streamline production
- Support data collection, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration toward zero loss
